@ABC "Armed conflict" has a legal definition and triggers specific legal obligations under international humanitarian law, such as protections for combatants and civilians.
Wouldn't that mean Trump is obligated to prove those boats he's bombing are definitely not civilian?
BREAKING: President Trump has determined that the U.S. is now engaged in a formal "armed conflict" with drug cartels, according to a confidential memo obtained by ABC News. abcnews.link/gmZ61q1
Five years ago today I posted a video on Twitter of Olive and Mabel having breakfast, which started a strange journey - and I'm very glad they're still with me on it.
Part of living with MS means occasionally losing an entire day to rest. Seriously, I just lost a full Saturday. The MS tax is real, my friends.#MultipleSclerosis⭐️
And for those not interested in such things, here instead is Mabel peering round a corner at @EastgateTheatre Wild Writers Festival last weekend. Olive was busy greeting the audience.
Decidedly less glam, but I got through my full 45 minute MRI without a claustrophobia-induced panic attack. Small victories!⭐️#MultipleSclerosis#ThisIsMS
@ahmedhankir I love every bit about this. An inspiration to all of us, for different reasons. For me, this time around, I deeply appreciate the walls you have helped break down with respect to returning to work/studies after a mental health leave. ❤️
My becoming a doctor journey:
2000 - Situation in Lebanon is dreadful. Forced to leave my parents behind (not because I want to, but because I have to). Arrive in the UK at 17 years of age. First jobs were working in a kebab van, cleaning floors & stacking supermarket shelves on minimum wage. Customers ask me if I can speak English.
2003 - Miraculously get into Manchester Medical School despite having to work 50 years/week to survive and the constant threat this posed on securing the necessary grades.
2006 - Forced to interrupt medical school due to the trauma of the Lebanon War and other factors. Develop severe psychological distress. Rendered impoverished, hopeless, homeless & suicidal. Stigmatised & dehumanised.
2011 - Recover, resume medical school with renewed determination & resilience & finally realise my dream of becoming a doctor.
2023 - NHS psychiatrist in London providing care to people who suffer from mental health conditions like I once did.
NEVER stop believing in yourself.
... try to eliminate the 2 I see (hoping there aren't any more), search for something to reach the ceiling to squish them, finally find something to at least scrape them off the ceiling, and finally realize that they were, in fact, just chips in the paint. #canttrusttiredeyes
Sooo... when I spend too much time driving, get to hotel, lay down on bed, look up, see 2 odd bugs on ceiling, worry that there is an infestation, call my spouse to tell him, (even send grainy pics), wonder if I'm going to need to contact front desk if I see more, decide to...
Today on #pinkshirtday2023 I think back to what my son Aiden used to say, "Exist Gently." Be kind, take care of each other & remember the behavior you walk past is the behavior you accept. Thanks to everyone @AbbyPoliceDept, Jake & Pyper for wearing your pink shirts #stopbullying
@luudisk just got this in the mail today!! Sooo grateful for the help in teaching EFP 12 for the first time!! Thanks Jo Chrona ! Every time I get a chance to learn from you, I feel blessed and overwhelmed.
