@SiriusXMNHL Had the genuine pleasure of meeting him just once. What an on-air talent and what a loss. Wishing peace to all his family and friends who are grieving.

We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of our friend and SiriusXM NHL Network Radio host Jim Boomer Gordon. After a courageous battle with cancer, Boomer passed away this week surrounded by his loved ones. He will be greatly missed by us all, on and off the air.

When I was fortunate enough to fulfill my NHL dream back in 1999, no one was kinder, friendlier, or more embracing to me than the legend Mike Lange. I'm so grateful I came to know that the brilliant Hall of Fame broadcaster was an even finer human being. RIP, Mike. And thank you.

Been crazy since last time I posted. Spent 16 days in hospital after getting diagnosed with multiple myeloma. Have had radiation and chemo and I’m home now to continue to fight. Lots of people asking so I thought I’d give a little update. Positive thoughts over here. Peace.

@pwilliamsAHL Couldn't agree more. Had an NHL-like feel to me, too, and I was there pre-Giant Center. Amazing franchise, amazing history.

For a long time I've tried to get to the bottom of why Hershey year in and year out has such rock-solid support. Lots of theories. Difficult to prove any of them outright, but the bottom line is undeniable. The end result is an environment that feels like NHL-like.

Fun little Alaska-UMass connection. UAA assistant coach Chris Kamal's father is none other than Dan Kamal (@dankamal), long-time voice of the Atlanta Thrashers and TV host with the Blue Jackets. Dan Kamal is also a UMass and @WMUAsports like myself. The world is small!

Bittersweet night as my NHL career with the Coyotes/Jets came to an end after 27 years. I am very grateful to have worked in the League for almost 3 decades. It’s been an honor to work with the most amazing athletes and people and all the great media. Thank you!

I broke my neck playing hockey December 2nd, 2004 at 8:36 pm. I hadn’t been back on the ice for 16 years. This was a really emotional and healing day for me last winter! Same skates I was wearing the night of my injury - old school @BauerHockey Vapors
