He was the best player on the pitch against Tottenham. We sold two CM’s for over £100m in the summer and we don’t look like we miss either because of how well Gomes (and Lemina of course) have done. I’m not sure how much more we can need to be sold on him? He’ll be a superstar.

@ricburts Joao Gomes is the only signing listed here that I’m not sold on yet. He’s so young and is already in the starting 11. To be honest I’ve been more impressed with Doyle than Gomes. I believe in Gomes but he’s probably not a £15m player yet. Doyle could become the real steal.

@markstinchcombe Maybe, but that’s different to big clubs acting like fannies when it affects them & saying nothing when it helps them. Which options did Liverpool urge Wolves to explore when VAR said they didn’t have the right camera angle to award a cup-tie winning goal at Anfield? Hypocrites.

Twice lost the league by a point - not sure why you wouldn't explore options when a goal that would put you 1-0 up, isn't awarded by a system solely in place to re-correct wrong non-subjective decisions, finishes in a 2-1 defeat in a league worth billions. An apology 😂

If you take out Norwich because they don’t bother trying, since 2014 every Championship winner has stayed up and they have averaged 48 points. Yet every year we’re told how hard it will be for them to survive. For the best promoted team it isn’t hard, it should be expected.

Wolves had several bids rejected for Alex Scott in January, as Bristol City wanted more than the £22m package that had been offered.
Wolves are still very keen but because of the players form, the fee required secure his services will now be closer to £30m.
