@Danny8bit Which is what makes illumination the perfect studio to adapt the ip. I'm not dismissing any of it's pacing flaws, but it also doesn't need to be anything more than a fun time for families, which is what illumination excells at in spite of what the internet will suggest.

@Danny8bit I'm not regurgitating anything. Just saying how I feel. And I feel like people put too much thought into these movies when there's no need for it. I just watched the last movie and in my opinion it fulfills the purpose and all the criteria to be a movie.Loved Scrapnik Island btw.

A movie is about much more than a plot, and there was clearly a lot of work put into the compositions, camera movements, the animation of the elements...

@Danny8bit Does LEGO even have like a main continuity or "universe", so to speak? I was under the assumption that the LEGO Movie is just a unique universe made of LEGOs. I know Barbie had a lot of random direct to DVD movies and some shows; I'm assuming the movie was very different from.

@Danny8bit The games are about what makes video game unique as a media.
The first movie took a simple yet solid story, and worked on essentially everything that makes cinema unique as a media, and it genuily does a rather great job.

@Danny8bit At the end of the day, I dont think Mario needs to he anything more than just Mario. He's maintained a steady and consistent stream of relevancy for 40 years, not many other franchises can say that about themselves. Even Looney Tunes constantly fades in and out of the culture.

@Danny8bit They do have lore and stories, but personally I understand the argument folks are making that having a story with much substance (and lore that they don't continually contradict lol) has never really been a priority for this series.

@Danny8bit The kids movie argument is entirely valid, but haven't seen anyone claim the games don't have any lore or story. The movies have utilized some of the game's lore and both have stories so not sure what you're trying to imply there exactly.
