@KevinPaulJames @Hillingdon @tgjonesuk They could and should have been. But the fight goes on. Having met the post office nationally - and a number of other possible operators I’m hopeful we can make something work. It’s just frustrating it’s all so last minute, and we may have no service for some time.

@DannyBeales @Hillingdon couldn’t give a toss or they would have been more proactive before now. All a bit last minute and far too late as usual. And someone needs to ask some serious questions of @tgjonesuk regarding their part in all this.

Yesterday I presented a public petition signed by residents to Parliament, calling for an alternative location to be secured for the Post Office in Uxbridge. Despite empty promises from the council, little work has been done and the current site is due to close next month.

Always a highlight of my week when I get a chance to chat with school students about the things that they care about. Last week I visited Vyners School, where we discussed lots of important issues, from student loans to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Labour is delivering the biggest funding injection to create specialist places for children with SEND – part of over £3bn of investment. Councils must prove it will be spent building nurseries, schools & colleges where every child can achieve and thrive. theguardian.com/education/2026…

This evening, I will be presenting my public petition in the House of Commons calling for urgent action ahead of the closure of the post office on Uxbridge High Street. With the post office set to close at the end of April, we need an alternative location as a matter of urgency.

It's promising that, thanks to this Labour Government, the number of people claiming food parcels locally and nationally is falling. But we need to get to a place where no one in this country has to rely on a food bank. Great to chat with @TrussellUK about how we do this.

🥳 The abolition of the Tories’ 2 child benefit cap passed into law. 👶In Uxbridge & South Ruislip, that means 3,090 children lifted out of poverty. 🌹Increasing the minimum wage, 30 hours free childcare & lifting children out of poverty - this is backing ordinary families.

I welcomed the team from Post Office HQ to my constituency office to discuss the closure of the post office on Uxbridge High Street. I'll continue to fight for a post office service in the heart of our community ahead of its closure in April.

@DannyBeales The staff at Shopmobility Uxbridge and the services they offer are fantastic and helpful. We are very lucky to have this service. It’s hard to believe, but many large shopping centres in some of our biggest cities have no such service. Well done.

Great to celebrate 25 years of the Chimes Shopping Centre with the wonderful, dedicated team at Shopmobility. The shopping centre and Shopmobility are an asset to our high street and show how investment can bring life to a town centre.
