This painting just sold for $195,000,000 USD. It's not even an NFT. I don't get it

@mulligan mint-pass type solutions have proven successful in reducing overall gas cost and I think PREMINT offering that option is in line with the product. It'd likely need to be an L2 solution, though, and possibly persist across projects ("PREMINT PASS").

💡#buildinpublic brainstorm: What if the end of a premint raffle, creators can offer winners a premint-powered mint pass (gas only charge)? Mint passes can be bought/sold until mint (i.e. access list spot selling). Then expire. Mint day is mint price+pass exchange. Discuss.

@designwizardeth @mulligan One way to keep "scalpers" away from it would be to demonetize it—allow only the transfer of winning raffles instead of selling. Any monetization at all would create an arbitrage situation. Or just leave it to creators, but with no default—require they actively choose transfers.

@designwizardeth @mulligan Yes and no. The problem is people will enter raffles, and win, but never mint. The goal is to try to have every raffle winner be a person who intends to mint—trading winning raffle tickets is an option, but the key would be for creators to more effectively gate entries as well.
