The conversation on Tuesday was whether Stanley’s style of play is needed on the third pair if Schenn is already there. Today’s conversation pivots towards if Stanley’s style of play is needed in the lineup at all if Schenn is already there, and this gives an interesting answer.

@GarretHohl What do you make of Chevy’s comments today that price wasn’t the issue and that they were willing to spend?

Why is it not both true that prices were steep and you don’t want to buy just for the sake of buying, but also that sometimes you have to bite the bullet to give your team the best shot you can at winning?

Why is it all or nothing? Why can’t there be nuance? Why cannot it be that the Jets are really good, will challenge for the cup, but had some legitimate holes/weaknesses, were unable to fix them via trade, but improved their depth’s ability to absorb injuries?
