@danrisby94 @Geo0002 @AlexJDonnelly If only we could rely on the consistency and reliability of the AFL, umpires and MRO. You seem far more focussed on being proven "right" rather than understanding my challenging of the league's stance on tunneling.
English

@KhuKhabs30953 @Geo0002 @AlexJDonnelly Well clearly mate it is within the rules. Because he had no case to answer. So that’s that mate
English

@danrisby94 @Geo0002 @AlexJDonnelly No mate, and you framing the question this way proves you don't know the rules. One can argue whether it's reportable, but it should clearly have been a free kick.
English

@PrinceImp1877 MRO has said “Edwards’ actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances.”
So, there we go.
English

@danrisby94 Naughton only has eyes for the ball. He launches at the ball. I have no idea what Edward’s intention is.
English

How is the front on contact that tunnels Naughton!! Such dangerous conduct and the umpire doesn’t even pay a free kick after all the soft marking infringements they were paying all night. Make it make sense.
So glad he was not badly injured.

Aaron Naughton legit nearly ended it all taking MOTY #AFLDogsSwans
English

@KhuKhabs30953 @Geo0002 @AlexJDonnelly Also, if Edwards doesn’t have his eyes on the ball and is facing towards the goal, why is it on him to protect the forward in this instance if AN is facing Edwards and can also see the collision coming.
Neither have the ball. Don’t they both have a duty of care?
English

@danrisby94 @Geo0002 @AlexJDonnelly Reactive & dramatic over a reckless act with very real potential to cause quadriplegia? He was running at pace, eyes off the ball, into the front of a marking contest. The AFL has been snoozing on tunneling for years. Time they cracked down on it before something worse happens.
English

@Geo0002 @KhuKhabs30953 @AlexJDonnelly Every contest has the potential to cause serious injury. The AFLs focus is on stamping out deliberate or negligent acts that cause that. I’m saying, this was not a deliberate act, merely clumsy. So people saying he should be suspended are being to reactive.
English

@KhuKhabs30953 @Geo0002 @AlexJDonnelly Yes. Reactive and dramatic as per your response. Not saying it can’t cause harm but to say it was reckless is far too simple. It’s not that straight forward.
Now Harley Reid grabbing into Heeney’s ankle the other week - that is reckless and dangerous.
English

@Geo0002 @KhuKhabs30953 @AlexJDonnelly He’s actually pulling up when he arrives at the contest. Obviously he thought he’d make it in time and actually clips his own teammate (Serong) first. I think everyone is being way too reactive and dramatic for something that is literally an accident. Wasn’t even front on contact
English

@danrisby94 @KhuKhabs30953 @AlexJDonnelly Negligent, reckless, careless..
You have a duty of care to the opposition, running toward a player that’s airborne whilst making no play on the footy is more than clumsy.
English

@danrisby94 @KhuKhabs30953 @AlexJDonnelly I agree, I don’t think he deserves 6 weeks either. It shouldn’t matter how many games he has played though. It was more than clumsy. If it was max king or Jeremy Cameron instead of Naughton, there would be uproar
English

@Geo0002 @KhuKhabs30953 @AlexJDonnelly Yeh mate. It was clumsy from a kid in his first game of AFL. Giving him six weeks for intentional tunneling is ridiculous and tells us exactly where the league is at the moment. Insanely reactionary and overly dramatic. It’s just an accident in footy. Move on
English

@danrisby94 @KhuKhabs30953 @AlexJDonnelly What part of it was a footy act? Storming late to a contest with no play on the actual ball?
English

@KhuKhabs30953 @AlexJDonnelly Calm down mate. Was a footy act from a first gamer. If anything just a bit clumsy. Tunneling though? Give it a spell
English

@AlexJDonnelly Tribunal should rub him out for 6 weeks minimum. Tunneling on Naughton was reprehensible.
English

@7AFL Will Lewis was being a dirty pest all night. Likely trying to justify himself as an AFL player. This was a bit comeuppance

@FOXFOOTY @GWSGIANTS Bedford. Resigned to a tagging role on one bloke who ended up with 30, and the other got BOG. And they lost by 40. Good day for him

"How do you reckon I'll go in the ruck?" "Aww, get up!" 😆

@AFLFantasyFiend Never chance anything. Unless the ball is over the ball, you should be making a play on it

Imagine your captain being so greedy for a bag he stops you scoring goal of the year? 🤔
Someone needs to take a hard look at themselves - Disappointing to say the least!

Pedro Pascal and Florence Pugh are the latest actors to condemn Paramount buying Warner Bros. in an open letter that's now been signed by more than 2,000 Hollywood names.
"We are deeply concerned by indications of support for this merger that prioritize the interests of a small group of powerful stakeholders over the broader public good. The integrity, independence, and diversity of our industry would be grievously compromised," read the letter. "Competition is essential for a healthy economy and a healthy democracy. So is thoughtful regulation and enforcement. Media consolidation has already weakened one of America's most vital global industries—one that has long shaped culture and connected people around the world."
