@dantepompieri @redaction Hydrocarbons like LNG are precursors to almost every other industrial chemical. They are required for plastics, for instance. No LNG -> no plastics -> no BASF SE -> no Mittelstand -> no VW, BMW, Mercedes, etc. Get it yet? You Krauts used to be so smart. :-/

I’m sorry but that graph only shows electricity generation and not the entire energy spectrum. Most German houses just like their neighbours use gas for home heating. Add to that gas usage in the industries, transport vehicles as well as for cooking. It’s a big hit and you’re delusional.
