Finally back on Twitter/X! The last couple of months I started my journey into sports photography covering football and rugby union in South Cumbria. For 2026 I will be continuing this journey and I hope to connect with other likeminded people! Happy New Year!

It’s been a long time since I spent any real time with my camera outdoors, but I got out for a couple of hours this morning and it felt great! Filmed nothing really, just glad to be surrounded by nature once again.

Feels good to be back on a bike again. I enjoyed a nice 40km ride through the South Lakes this morning. I’m already looking forward to my next outing!

Right, time to get my outdoor gear dusted off ready for some hikes and adventures. It’s been too long!

Anybody good with MacBook Pros? I bought a new one last year, M3 chip, thinking it was going to speed up my workflow, but it’s just been a complete hassle since day one. It doesn’t recognise any of my external hard drives, and my SSD takes about 30mins to be recognised sometimes?

I’ve heard so many cuckoos throughout the South Lakes this week 👌🏼

I’ve already seen greater numbers and more species of butterflies this week than I did all of last year. Hopefully this will be a much better summer for them.

I do find ruined buildings in the landscape very fascinating, they make for great photographic subjects.

All packed for a trip north of the border tomorrow morning. I’m only spending one night in a bothy so I’ve packed light into my Helikon-Tex 18L bergen, I absolutely love this bag for smaller trips!

Some images from yesterday morning down at the estuary. I’ve been spending a bit of time down there the last few days, it’s only five minutes from my home and it’s a lovely place to walk and clear the head. The conditions were just beautiful and there were plenty of birds around.

Christ, Arsenal players would go to the ground if a feather touched them!
