THE ELECTORAL ACT, 2026 - A THREAD. PART 2. If you wish to see part 1 of this series, please visit the link and read. Section 31 says a candidate can withdraw his candidature by notice to his party and his party has 90 days to mention this to INEC. Section 32 of the Act gives INEC 60 days before election to publish the full names and addresses of candidates nominated by their respective political parties on their website. Where a political party does not find it's candidate's name, it should notify INEC within 14 days after the publication. Curiosly if it does not notify INEC it shall not invalidate the election.
