@thebradybutch @alaskastardust genuine question. by your logic, is reactive abuse a myth? are women who commit violent acts against their abusers just as bad as the abuser? are folks who abuse food stamps reason to assume all folks on welfare are scammers?

@thebradybutch @alaskastardust can women become indoctrinated by a system rooted in their own oppression? yes. can they perpetuate these ideologies, contributing to further harm amongst women? yes. this is literally what systemic oppression aims to do.

I hope younger women know that when an older woman says to you, “your standards are too high, you’ll never find a man who meets them” it isn’t really about you, they’re just thinking about all the things they’ve had to settle for

@lioarchives it doesn't matter? that's what we are debating? also, watch the news. watch protests. watch ice kidnappings. if you aren't observing the uprising of women (often vulnerable and unsafe themselves) protecting each other because MEN AREN'T, i question who is the one w/ privilege.

@danzigsdaddy naturally protector or not, it doesn't matter, you need power and safety to do it, most women don't have that and patriarchy is a culture deeply rooted in our society, you need power and privileges to unlearn that🥹

And we definitely aren’t “biologically programmed” to protect eachother, otherwise we wouldn’t be in this mess lol

@Check_Later0 @alaskastardust you’re editing out where i said “by and large” which is another way of saying “generally speaking”, which is a convenient omission here. and yes, i do think that generally speaking, women are predisposed to protecting others, especially today.

@danzigsdaddy @alaskastardust I feel like this is a very dangerous thing to say because you're ignoring how many older women who are very male centered have put other women in danger how many older women think they're competing with their daughters and how many of us have been put down by older women.

a man used to see a woman out of his league and become religious, employed, violent, or king; now he wants someone “safe and soothing", as if love is hospice for his ambition instead of the thing that makes him stand up straighter. return to greatness
