I am completely baffled.
Support is not hated because of sexism.
This statement alone and the amount of support it got shows you the iq of an average support player.
Support is widely hated in rivals regardless of gender.
That is specifically because of how INTEGRAL support ultimates are to winning the game.
And yet the existence of certain characters that provide infinite value for minimal effort which allows very bad players to climb to a higher rank than they should be resulting in frustration by their teammates when the enemy supports are clearly better.
And even when this is not the case certain players when they don’t understand why they are losing they will simply blame it on the fact that they’re dying which they think is the support’s fault when in reality it’s them being in bad positions that allows the enemy team to kill them while their supports are unable to heal them, these players are simply dumb.
Does not excuse the fact that majority of support players genuinely have no idea how the game works and are just spamming heals down main and hoping for the best while instantly matching ults for no reason or not using ults at all.
Please stop being delusional, it’s a truly disgusting thing to see and take real world problems that people genuinely suffer from and project it onto a video game.

Calling the idea “insane” shuts down discussion instead of engaging with it. No one is saying every complaint about supports is rooted in sexism. There are absolutely valid balance frustrations in games. But pretending that player behavior exists in a vacuum, completely untouched by real-world social patterns, is just willful ignorance. Support roles across games have consistently been: - Framed as “helping” rather than “carrying” - Treated as less skilled or less important - More likely to get blamed, micromanaged, or disrespected Those patterns don’t come out of nowhere. They line up pretty closely with how people undervalue roles associated with care, support, and service in real life. Yes, game design matters. Yes, balance matters. But social conditioning shapes how players interpret and react to those mechanics. If you only look at this through a pure “skill issue vs. balance issue” lens, you’re choosing to ignore half the picture. The truth is, gaming culture has well-documented gender biases. People drawing comparisons like this to sexism/politics are genuinely insane. The characters are just annoying to deal with and have access to very easy tools to deal with problems in their games (dive) but they refuse to get good at using them. The devs then have to compensate for their lack of skill through buffs, further reducing their skill floor leading to favored matchups against characters that are supposed to counter them lol. This is why people have an "inherent hatred" towards the support role, it's quite literally because they whine and get what they want, it has nothing to do with fucking sexism, that is an INSANE line of thinking.

@realwhitecastle @DAKO_Tsi cel :) it’s very common for me to solo heal only for a dps instalock to reluctantly swap rocket into an enemy phx. triple supp is common but my main issue is that nobody knows how to actl play the supps in trip comps, & 2-2-2 is still better in comp bc its less coordination

Maybe someone can help me understand what I’m missing here
So they are also hurting their own teammates possibly by banning these, and the goal is to stop one tricks. Why are people in higher ranks only one tricking? Obviously the most comfortable on a specific hero, but could you really not hop on Rocket, Loki, or Luna and at least perform decently?
Like help me understand the mindset of going into ranked knowing..like two heroes only. I try to know at least what every character can do before hopping on ranked in any game in case of something like this. I won’t be perfect but I’ll contribute at least

@Betrigansmh yes both teams suffer from bad backlines but the backline will still be blamed for the dps or tank diff that follows & that just leads to even more divide & friction in the community

@Betrigansmh the problem is that rocket or luna just isnt as great as the other supports and often wont be able to keep up with the high dmg output in the game = being blamed for something that’s out of their control bc players dont understand consequences of their actions

@CryOverX @Noodledori1 she is literally rarely played in comp at all because of how terrible she is, there are very few widow mains in the oce/asia region and even then they most likely swap to another dps after an initial pick or two.

Dive has been meta since the game came out.
Just because you have no idea how to play the game nor how the game is played at a high level doesn’t change that fact.
Melee players are crybabies that want no one other than them to be playing the game.
You don’t want to be able to COMPETE vs far range heroes you want your MELEE heroes to have access to EVERYTHING, mobility, survivability, one shot potential, and being able to close 60 meter gaps in a second, all while being basically impossible to shoot at without having really good aim and landing insanely good shots on some heroes like Spider-Man and Ironfist.
It’s insane to me how DD players have the audacity to complain about getting shot from afar when you literally have wallhacks and can avoid anyone shooting you if you have 3 functioning braincells.
Most maps are designed with melee in mind and are very easy to traverse without getting shot at.
If you are walking main and getting poked out before you dive that’s a pathing and a skill issue.
You people are bad at the game.
Stop complaining about your heroes that are made to be accessible by the average person first picking up a video game whilst still being viable and in dd’s case broken and get better.
