I fear a theoretical error has been widely accepted by mainstream marxists, that being that socialism is a dictatorship of the proletariat. I ask you, when has marx used the term to describe socialism? Remember socialism abolished commodity production, this involves...

@KellMorrHK @TheYcOrg That is the issue with ancaps, they want free markets and fewer if any regulations, such regulations which stop Microsoft, Apple Nintendo, etc. From forming a mega corporation and that preserve at least some competition, even if only between the biggest firms.

@KellMorrHK @TheYcOrg You act as if my point was that we live in entrenched monopolies, this is wrong. My point is only that there are emerging monopolies and we can see the results in, for example video game prices, which only go down because of competition, but imagine if there was no competition...

@KellMorrHK @TheYcOrg It's not Nokia competing with iPhone it's Samsung vs iPhone. Consumers may choose a new brand but their choices are limited to these big guys. You mentioned before about market entrance, when a new threat emerges these companies work together to crush them.

@KellMorrHK @TheYcOrg The term "monopoly" here isn't quite correct because in that tech sphere it's apple, samsung, and others. It's more like an oligarchy perhaps rather than true monopoly. You bring up competition, well it's not Linux competing with Windows, it's Windows vs Mac...

@abhi_bhor_ @TheYcOrg Now these three problems can be overcome and he admits that if they are the bigger the firm. The fact capital and profits increase as the firm expands solves 1 and 3, the fact a firm is not run by one guy solves 2. Was he meant to prove that monopolies won't keep expanding?

@abhi_bhor_ @TheYcOrg I've started reading him and I have some critiques of his work, in his nature of the firm the three main points for firm growth are: 1. Costs of organising transactions 2. Mistakes made by entrepreneur 3. Price increases of factors of production

@KellMorrHK @TheYcOrg I will just point out that they all compete with eachother, there is no one game monopoly, and so prices may go down, but what happens when there is no competition is the question.

@KellMorrHK @TheYcOrg Using ai is so lazy. It has the sources right there, look through them and check if they're correct and then post your stuff. For example, can you tell me how they've adjusted the prices for inflation? Which top selling games have fallen 14-20%? And so on.

@KellMorrHK @TheYcOrg What is being discussed is monopolies, if you want to adopt that view that "when stuff gets expensive I ignore it and do something else as if that makes the problem disappear" what's whatever, but it is only an illusion.

@KellMorrHK @TheYcOrg I'm very aware steam is hated. You say that when the games get too expensive you go hiking and wait for them to go down, oh if only everyone had the time in the day and lived by mountains. Not everyone goes hiking when stuff gets too expensive, you're not everyone nor vice versa

@KellMorrHK @TheYcOrg "When inflation is considered" what is meant by this exactly? And what "other goods"? Steam doesn't have every game in existence, if you want to play mario you're buying from Nintendo. That is like a sentence long, you've just gone to Google and highlighted what looks good.

@KellMorrHK @TheYcOrg I forgot about them. The thing about them is the market was very fresh and so competion emerging was easier than it is now, some 30 years after the internet and consoles got big. It's like how Microsoft got so big, they started when the market was booming and consolidated.

@darealCOMCOM2 @TheYcOrg Why didn’t you mention Atari? They dominated for the longest time. Or Sega? They had command of the market. What happened?
