I don’t know about you, but I’ll never prefer designing by firing prompts like a machine gun. I want to draw rectangles, tweak bezier curves, and polish gradients and radiuses for hours. That’s the craft I fell in love with. 🫠

@dariusdan Agree. Being oldschool I still prefer manual work. More control on everything and more option to fix problems when something goes south. Ai should remain copilot not tne driver.

@dariusdan 100% aligned on this. I use AI to write client proposals, stupid documents, basically to do the stuff i hated doing. I still tweak rectangles by myself

@UroborosJose You said those methods are obsolete without arguments. I actually have arguments instead. Go check designer hiring roles on Apple for example and you'll see Figma skills are mandatory. And surely those will not disappear any time soon. But already lost a lot of time with you.Bye

Want to be a designer? Pick up a pen. Use paper. Grab a camera. Learn Figma. Don't skip those. Because no prompt box will ever make you one.

@dariusdan I don’t think taste has anything to do with trends? Maybe we mean different things when we talk about taste? Taste for me is the ability to identify beauty regardless of its environment.

Rough time to start as a designer. A new tool drops every week and the noise is deafening.😶 What actually lasts is taste, aesthetic sense, curation, understanding user behavior, and the discipline to simplify instead of add.

Don't call yourself a designer if you're using AI only. You’re just a client with an AI subscription.

@dariusdan I'm talking about AI design tools! They are quite behind. At least 2-3 years behind AI coding tools.

@kdesign08 ok, now make those decent results into top notch visuals. An experienced designer already has great speed of working in Figma and will already ship those visuals.

@dariusdan being a good designer is the only way to know how to put what you're visualising in your head to words in a prompt box and get decent results!
