@SeaOfThieves Oh I forgot to mention. This specific clip shows a player who is impersonating another member of the community by using a variation of their gamertag. Part of the extra harassment... Please don't mistake this impersonator for the authentic player.

I took the attached clip as recently as last night. Ever since I made a little name for myself in the @SeaOfThieves community, this is what I encounter daily on the game. I'm not exaggerating when I say this occurs at least once every-time I sail. This is the sad reality of the my experience when I play. These are not random players on the game, they are players using cheat software such as Athenaware, CMH etc. From cheat developers who have 'target' lists built into their software. Target lists of players for cheaters to hunt and harass. Lists which my name and many others have been on for some time. In other words, this is not a random or rare encounter. It is impossible to get rid of all toxicity and hate speech etc that gets said in games, I understand that. However this is not what is happening. These people target specific players, they are organised and they have tools and easy access to do this because of the games inability to deal with prolific third-party cheat clients. Before going any further I would like to give a genuine shoutout to Shinobi, Epoch & others who handle the SoT support tickets. They honestly do a great job in swiftly banning players when they receive clips like this. Despite their swift efforts to ban these players, it doesn't make a dent on the issue. These players are able to make new accounts and bypass bans within an hour. Reporting each account (for misconduct as seen in the clip) barely slows them down. For this reason, most players have stopped bothering to even file reports as they know it is not an effective deterrent. The targeting, harassment, cheating & doxing in this game is simply unacceptable. Unfortunately, the game just simply isn't a safe space. I have a lot more to say on the topic and if any Rare personnel want to reach out to me I can provide some additional information. Information which exhibits how this is not simply one internet hooligan targeting other internet users, but how this is specifically a Sea of Thieves problem, no other platform or space. Having said that, I want to end with the following: - Do I think SoT Support staff do a good job? Yes, with what is possible for them, they do excellent. - Do I think Rare Community Managers such as Jotoro, Becky etc. hear the concern and would like to be able to stop this for us? Yes, ofcourse/ - Do I think the best approach is to silently handle it in the background without addressing it for the players who are struggling to handle it? No, I think a more open conversation is needed about this issue. I hope that is seen as a fair assessment. I really hope this gets addressed soon and I hope we don't have to keep dealing with it.
