Thanks to our AMAZING staff we had the most spectacular Spring Carnival! It was a first for us and definitely will not be the last! This was a celebration of the family and loving community that we are at PS/MS 124, of which I am so incredibly honored and proud to be part of ❤️🥰

In Opinion "Genuine progress is the ability to be Black and stumble around a bit," Esau McCaulley writes. "This is true of celebrities and ordinary folks. Everything we do should not be a commentary on our race." nyti.ms/41vmaOn

If we’re not doing it to provide Equity and Access for our children then, why are we even doing it? @darnese @OEAnyc

There are so many writers and producers involved in a moment like this. It is wild that no one would stop to think that Dr. Davis would need care in this moment. Many of us have complex genealogies but to present this to her as something to be proud of is wack. D

“Do you know what you’re looking at? That is a list of the passengers on the Mayflower.” Our researchers discovered #AngelaDavis’s ancestors traveled to the US on the Mayflower and here is her reaction. #FindingYourRoots

Fortunately, my mother is safe and able to stay in the apartment that is home to her (and where I lived from infancy to my 20s) a little whole longer.

Today on a frustrating call w/ Section 8 regarding a letter my mom received (that scared her & caused her a few sleepless nights), I learned the term "overhoused". Say what, now? To grow old in this country as a poor person is for the birds. #WordsMatter #LeaveOurEldersinPeace

Even with a sorrowful spirit from hearing about yet another horrific massacre, this time in Texas, my heart remains full after spending the afternoon with the IBA/CRE Dream Team. First time I have seen them all in person since March 2020🥰 I am better because of y’all 🙏🏽 ❤️

Our @OEAnyc Implicit Bias Awareness workshops are bridges to unpacking how #education systems & policies often reflect harmful biases & stereotypes. Connecting the individual to the systemic is necessary in this work. I'm looking forward to more of these and other sessions.
