So edits need to: • introduce context immediately • reach the reaction faster • cut dead space between moments Streams are built for watching live. YouTube videos are built for retention and discovery. The goal isn’t shorter edits , it’s clearer storytelling so the best moments keep working long after the stream ends.

Most Twitch streamers fail on YouTube for one reason: They upload like streamers, not creators. YouTube doesn't want your 3-hour VOD. It wants your best 10 minutes, hooked, paced, and edited to retain. Your stream has the content. The edit is what makes it grow. Day 26 of editing to afford a private jet 🚀 target - $10,000 per month 💸 earned - $12.50 (i am too scared to spend it so i just look at it) the project: got a new dm. the guy sent me a video of him sitting in a dark room in silence. he said "make it highly engaging like mrbeast". the struggle: i have zero dollars for a subscription so i went to youtube to find free sound effects. i clicked a link that said "free whoosh sounds 2026 working no virus". the reality: my mouse is now moving by itself. someone took control of my laptop. honestly i am just watching the screen hoping the hacker knows how to edit this boring video for me. celebrating day 27 by sharing my laptop with a stranger and hoping he color grades the footage. status: hacked. whoosh. mrbeast style. outsourcing to viruses grinding further less 💪

I’ll start charging more when I have enough proof. This is the lie that keeps most editors broke. Look at this screenshot from when I hit 600 followers. At this stage, I didn't have a massive portfolio or 50 client testimonials. But I didn't wait to "feel ready" I started framing the small proof I did have as a solution to a big problem. I was closing $1,500/video deals with 600 followers while "experts" with years of experience were still begging for $100 gigs. The truth is that you don't lack proof. You lack the ability to frame your work. High-paying clients don't want to see a 10-page portfolio. They want to see that you understand their revenue, their retention, and their brand. They want to know how you can help.
