@Gill_Gross (2/2) Jannik on the other hand? Insane since IW. Carlos needs to get his sh1t together or else Jannik may rule, for now. And I'm not tryin to be overdramatic, same as I wasn't concerned with Jannik before IW. But somehow I felt more confident about Jannik quickly bouncing back

@Gill_Gross (1/2)Well, playing like that - you can't expect to win against Jannik, no matter the surface. Since IW there's something wrong with Carlos. No joy, vlots of frustration. Very erratic. And yes, wind didn't help. This loss might push him more into one of his dips.

Huge win for Sinner in the H2H. He's now beaten Alcaraz in arguably the slowest conditions on tour. Just like Alcaraz ended a dominant HC stretch for Sinner at the US Open last year. Sinner ends a dominant clay stretch for Alcaraz.

@josemorgado Terrible from Alcaraz. Something's wrong with him ever since IW really. No joy, lots of frustration, very erratic at times. Quite concerning overall. Meanwhile Jannik's on the rise. The stretch from IW up to now is just insane.

NEW WORLD #1. Jannik Sinner wins the last five games to defeat Carlos Alcaraz 7-6(5), 6-3 and win in Monte-Carlo the biggest clay title of his career. He is back to world number #1. 8th M1000 title (ties Alcaraz), 4th consecutive 27th tour-level title

@TheTennisLetter That one decision to play dropshot was flabbergasting. Also I don't think that deep return position works very well fornm Carlos. Imo should mix it up more - especially on Jannik's second serves. But also it looks like Carlos struggles to read Jannik's 1st serve.

Sinner wins the 1st set 7-6(5) against Carlos Alcaraz in Monte Carlo. Exceptional serving from Jannik in the big moments. Managing the windy conditions very well. Jannik is one set away from the title. 🇮🇹🦊

@josemorgado Maybe posting more pseudo philosophical, 15yo girls-like aphorisms on X will help him?

Tough to describe Tsitsipas’ level today, specially in the second set… Not even the Monte-Carlo effect is working for him this time…

@TheTennisLetter Well, maybe he should go and write more of his cringe aphorisms on X, like 15yo girls? Maybe that will help him?

Stefanos Tsitsipas will drop to world #65 (at best) when the new rankings come out. This will be his lowest ranking since 2018. Tough times for the 3-time Monte Carlo Champ.

Clay season is finally here. The crushed red brick is both a field of play and a canvas. With every set, and every match, that canvas is swept clean, offering an opportunity to paint a new picture or to tell a new story. It's a cleansing of the soul; an opportunity for rebirth.

@TennisMyLife68 But that's misleading. Last WTA 1000 was played almost a year ago. Iga is 24y295d today. When last year's Rome 1000 wdend Iga was 23y352d. So how about comparing Iga with player's being 23y352y max?

World #1 and 2022 champ Carlos Alcaraz plays a flawless match to beat João Fonseca 6-4, 6-4 and reach the 3rd round in Miami. He was AMAZING: 27 winners. Didn't get broken. Very good first of many matches between them.

@josemorgado He wasn't flawless tho. Probably one of the worst dropshot performance of his career lol. He played good, but he could've steal 2 more breaks if he was flawless 😉 All in all good performance. Didn't really let Joao in the match. And as for Joao, not as his best for sure too.
