Afghans/Pashtuns should pay as much respect to Faqir Ipi as they do to Bacha Khan. He should be studied, and his struggle against the British and their remnants should be studied and glorified. Wali Khan, often glorified, was the one who pushed for Urdu instead of Pashto in the curriculum in Pakhtunkhwa.

@darw159212 Let me just ask you this genius - If that’s the case, why are the Iranians trusting us over others to mediate? And why do the Chinese call us Ironclad brothers?

No, we are not. Ayub made Pakistan part of SEATO/Cento and aligned with US against Soviets. Zia did even worse - joined US in a hot war against Soviets. Musharraf also joined US’s war on terror but played both sides secretly. This is the first time that Pakistan is pursuing independent foreign policy - which is why the Americans, Chinese, Iranians and Saudis are all happy with us. Alhamdoulilah. It’s a big change and something to be really proud of you unless you are a habitual critic of the Pakistani state and can’t praise it even when it does things right.

@KiyyaBaloch We are in the same cycle as Ayub and Zia. Their proximity to the USA had made them internationally acceptable and brought relative prosperity at home. But it afforded them great impunity domestically, which translated into harsh measures especially against smaller nations in Pak.

@ayeshaijazkhan It doesn't take much to know that Pakistan army is hired by US and Saudi. You either understand that or you think Pakistan has the economy to make its own decisions which would be really dumb.

@darw159212 You’re really dumb if that’s your analysis. If Iran thought this it would never trust Pakistan.

Qamar Bajwa, Nadeem Anjum and Asim Munir have more camaraderie than any civilian politicians ever will. Same institution, same agenda and the same mentality. Don't tell me who was in charge when Arshad Sharif was murdered

The US using Pakistan for peace is a good thing. Traditionally, Pakistan was a war puppet, but after Trump's losses in Iran, it's role has positively shifted to being a peace puppet and we can't be mad about that. Hopefully (but unlikely) Trump also asks for peace with Afghans.
