@VedBorah Good analysis. I live in Mangalore which is merely 50 km away from the Kerala-Karnataka border. NE (especially Assam) has a lot of similarities with Kerala (from the standpoint of ecology, wildlife, food, culture, way of life, etc.).

Food habits in India follow geography and history as much as religion. Both North East India & Kerala show that Indian food culture isn’t uniform, it follows land, history& people more than religion alone. Beef is widely available in Kerala & part of local cuisine. ++

In Nietzsche’s words, “One must still have chaos in oneself to give birth to a dancing star.” Zubeen was that dancing star – forged in chaos, radiant in contradiction and unforgettable in his defiance. Will cherish these words for times to come. ❤️❤️

In the aftermath of Karnataka resisting setting up of foreign university campuses in Bengaluru (Liverpool, York, etc.), we can think of inviting them to Guwahati -- preferably closer to #IITG. Please think about it @himantabiswa Dada. thehindu.com/news/cities/ba…

@himantabiswa Dada, need to catch up in Assam too.

Andhra Pradesh is set to deploy India’s first indigenously built 8-qubit quantum computer this November in Amaravati, with support from @QpiAI. This initiative, backed by the National Quantum Mission, aims to transform agriculture, water management, and healthcare. I would like to congratulate QpiAI founder, Mr Nagendra Nagarajan and express my gratitude to @nqmdst for their support of this project. #AmaravatiQuantumValley #QuantumIndia

@VedBorah Right. TN govt is also increasing green cover. As a result the Chennai and other TN cities' climate is getting more pleasant than earlier. A cousin, who has been living in Chennai for two decades, told me about his experience there.

@dasparthap Yes, depleting for sure. Yet there's enough and the govt is planting trees on the newly developed layouts. Like HSR for instance.

The thick cover of mature trees- in parks, avenues, old layouts acts like a giant natural air conditioner in Bangalore.

@abhishekporaxar It's quite common to see a scene across the whole of NE. Assam and Meghalaya the most. 20 yrs from now all will be gone. Our khar folks should visit how Western Ghats have been kept under a strict protection regime for decades now. Hardly any depletion in rain forests here.

@VedBorah Bangalore is full of Bangladeshi miscreants. My colleague who has an independent house in the outskirts of Bangalore tells me that she is afraid to leave her house unattended because of burglary by these parasites. It's good that the rest of India is waking up to this menace.

What matters most is not the quantity but the quality of fish. Not privy to eastern Assam, but in western Assam, miyas produce fish in large chunks feeding them urea. This is deadly as it is causing widespread kidney ailment, cancer and other terminal disease among people.
Himanta Biswa Sarma@himantabiswa

𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄? Between 2019 and 2024, Assam doubled its fish production to 4.99 lakh MT and became the 4th largest fish producing state in India. Assam will be among the top 5 states in the country, in every field. #AssamLeads
