The entirety of our social, cultural, and political firmament was mobilized immediately after 9/11 to make sure that there would be no generational hatred of Muslims. Most of the same forces are *pushing* the hatred of Jews.

I think I'm fairly engaged, politically. And antisemitism in the left-wing spaces was something I was aware of. But the scope, speed & virulence with which it metastasized, was shoved into mainstream legitimization after Oct 7th, & keeps growing - fuck. That took me by surprise.

I've always found appeals to "Idiocracy" to explain political reverses to be pretty meh, but it's getting very difficult to dismiss the parallels. Whether it's because the parallels are real, or because my body composition is now mostly toxic hate & alcohol, is up for debate.
