In my opinion, data is both incredibly useful and highly distracting. Focus on a few meaningful metrics and keep the model simplified.

Great thread. Medical disruption can’t come fast enough at every level, from insurance, to hospital admin, to med school.

It went from being cool to own #bitcoin bc @elonmusk bought some to being uncool bc laser 👀 to 100k to being called boomer coin to its final landing of a somewhat respectable, reliably boring, way too volatile 'experiment' worth 20k of magic internet money. Kinda interesting 😂

@coloradotravis I agree there is no rush + probably goes lower. And yes, this is first macro bear market for #bitcoin but 2018 blow off the top was still pretty similar in terms of #btc crashed 70+% from the highs in about 6 months give or take. Think it may take longer to recover this time tho

@AndrewSteinwold @DuneAnalytics probably the most legit/useful tool in crypto/on-chain I have found. I don't do a ton of NFT stuff but Dune would be helpful for NFT analytics I would imagine

@TheStalwart @TheStalwart Yes companies can see both and the ad platforms like twitter and FB are inflating their stats. Companies still pay for the media bc it is driving conversions but at a much less efficient rate than they are being told

Like even if, say, Twitter's userbase were really inflated. What does it affect? Companies can still see how much they're paying for clicks and subsequent purchases either way no?

Something I've always been kind of curious with respect to things like ad fraud and bots and stuff like this. I'm sure there's a lot of garbage internet stats, but can't companies basically track the connection between their ad spending and actual sales?

@coloradotravis thank you. It has taken months until you finally offered to buy me a drink🍺 I do appreciate your insights. I followed you specifically for a breadth of reality amongst lots of up only and it helped me position, so thank you. But obvi feeling bad for those not as lucky

@coloradotravis you are having too much fun😂 What is neat about crypto is the real time at which you can observe the emotions of markets. Sure, stocks trade in real time but you don't see the order books on brokerage sites like you can on exchanges

The last few years, the consensus: economy is doing great bc jobs + earnings are good But if lots of jobs and earnings are supported by increasing debt levels, is the 'strong economy' really strong? This is what I am thinking as I look around at the current situation unfolding

Mind-blowing stat of the day: Most VC-backed startups don't automate reporting (sales, retention, LTV, etc.) In 2022, this is akin to playing pin the tail on the donkey w/ your business🐴 Let me help you automate your data- check out my new venture!🔓 glfanalytics.com

My friends company has 100+ employees but only 1 client (annualized <1m rev per year) I feel like many businesses are funded, built before customer base exists Is there a good reason for this? Why not start w MVP + build customer base before scaling? Is this outdated thinking?

@coloradotravis I read the tweet, thought about it, and agreed with it haha. And I do think it is criticism that is valid. Any system which allows for large leverage unchecked is not sustainable

@coloradotravis me: this criticism seems fair your interpretation of me: this criticism seems unfair lol...in my opinion the problem stems from leverage not crypto. That seems like a fair counter point no?

@coloradotravis Crypto is filled with leverage and junk, no doubt. But, don't you find similar kinds of leverage and junk in traditionally financial markets? Wasn't the 2008 financial crisis largely the result of bad loans? The criticism feels fair but why isolate the criticism to crypto?

@QwQiao Querying raw blockchain data is complex. I would pay $ for easy to use tables someone else curates Dune Analytics is basically this/you can fork code, but I think if someone curates top 50 queries from Dune, for ex., and allows users to connect via BigQuery, I would pay for that
