This is the horrific 911 call Sandra Herold made after her 200-pound pet chimpanzee, Travis, attacked her friend Charla Nash. Earlier that day, Travis had become agitated and refused to come back inside. Sandra gave him tea mixed with Xanax, then asked Charla to help. But as soon as Charla got there, he attacked her in the driveway. Sandra called 911 screaming: “He’s killing my friend!” She tried to stop Travis by hitting him with a shovel and stabbing him with a kitchen knife, but he kept attacking. For several minutes, Travis mauled Charla, tearing off her hands, nose, lips, eyelids, and most of her face. When police arrived, Travis walked toward a patrol car, opened the door, and tried to attack the officer inside. The officer shot him, and Travis later died from his wounds. Charla survived, but her injuries were catastrophic. She was left blind, lost both hands, and later became one of the first people in the United States to receive a full face transplant.

Chirayu Rana was expelled from high school for pulling a knife on a classmate. He also had a brawl with the school's football coach, and was known rob/mug in the Virginia area.
