there's actually several including the memorandum in 2017 that you claim the astros were just a scapegoat for. here's some examples below. 2001 Electronic Equipment Directive: Please be reminded that the use of electronic equipment during a game is restricted. No club shall use electronic equipment, including walkie-talkies and cellular telephones, to communicate to, or with, any on-field personnel, including those in the dugout, bullpen, field and – during the game – the clubhouse. Such equipment may not be used for the purpose of stealing signs or conveying information designed to give a club an advantage. Improper Use of Replay Review Technology: While teams were permitted to have video replay rooms starting in 2014, the rules strictly limited their use to deciding whether to challenge a call. The Astros illegally used a live center-field camera feed to decode signs in real-time, which was a direct violation of the intended use of this technology. Cell Phones & Personal Devices: Players are prohibited from using cell phones or other personal electronic devices in the dugout, bullpen, or on the field during the game to prevent sign-stealing and unauthorized communication.

@data_wrangler2 @annoyingastros Looks like it was a memorandum 1-1 issued after the Red Sox were caught and looks similar to language that made it into the 2020 or 2021 (I forget which year) rulebook. In 2017 there was nothing prohibiting it, and well known now as a league wide problem, and Astros scapegoating.

Okay I am the biggest Framber hater - we know this - but to say that Adolis Garcia is the better player here is so crazy. “Guy that pitched 4 times in a playoff run” is just ignorant lol
data wrangler@data_wrangler2

@annoyingastros @TxForever you're comparing a guy that pitched 4 times in a playoff run to a guy that played every day and destroyed the ego of every astros fan. so much so that you came to twitter to complain about it 3 years later. they are not even close to the same.

you're again talking about sports like these events are in a silo. pitchers can go out and dominate the zone and be more aggressive when they have run support. conversely, pitchers can press when they think they have to toss 9 innings of shut out ball to have a chance. i know astros fans don't want to admit it, but what he did in MM, in that entire series was a dominate performance. Adolis was the heart and soul of the 2023 team. everyone from the pitching staff to Bruce Bochy to the bat boys fed off him and the energy he brought to the team. couple that with him being the hottest hitter in the America over those 7 games, nothing was more important.

@data_wrangler2 @annoyingastros As a fan, sure you want Garcia to be the sexy, eye-catching highlight reel you think he is. But the less glamorous performances JMo and Evo shutting down the Astros offense at home did a whole lot more damage to us. Game 7 was about to be a slugfest until JMo shut us down.

@shoukAstros @annoyingastros sure, David Freeze was even more heart breaking than Adolis was. believe me. but you said Adolis impact didn't matter at all, Rangers would've won without him, which is a terrible way to look at any sporting event, let alone an emotionally playoff series.

@data_wrangler2 @annoyingastros Except the Cardinals were DOWN 2 with 2 outs when Freese hit that triple. They had 0 room for error. And then Pujols homer off Lidgein 2005, also DOWN 2 with 2 outs, 0 room for error. Both of these had more stakes than anything Garcia did that ALCS

still strikes a nerve eh? 😂 you got into a thread about the impactfulness of 22 Framber vs. 23 Adolis. that's not putting words in your mouth, that's me assuming you knew what you were speaking on when you decided to chime in. that's on me for making that kind of assumption from someone that can't read without a trash can. i don't think position players have that sort of impact every year. again, we're talking about a record setting impact. not just a clutch walk off or a few good ABs, but literally dominated a series to the point that astros fans are still butthurt about him years later. if he didn't have that level of impact, astros fans wouldn't still be mad about it years later.

Oh no guys we’ve got a trash can joke! Funny you made a terribly dated reading joke and then proceeded to put words in my mouth about one being more impactful. And fair, you weren’t comparing careers. Do you really think that position players don’t takeover playoff series and playoff runs? He was on an all time heater for sure, but come on.

lol that's a terrible way to look at situational baseball. i'll give you game 7 cause that was a massacre. the game 6 grand slam ended the series. took the life away from the astros dugout and fans. was probably the most important AB in the entire series. without that grand slam the astros come into game 7 thinking they have a chance. source: 2011 Rangers WS game 6 against the Cardinals. exact same thing happened when David Freeze hit the tying triple in the 9th and walk off in the 11th. there was no hope for the Rangers in game 7.

lol again reading comprehension is low. i never said he wasn't a huge part of 2022. i actually completely agree with you that he was vital to that series. what i did say though is that it's not even close to the level of Adolis' impact on 2023. there's a reason your thread is full of Rangers fans defending him and astros fans bashing him. you having to point out that you're over the discourse in your own thread should be empirical enough evidence to see how much impact he had.

this was never a career comparison. nor was it a denial of Frambers importance. i know reading is hard when you don't have a trash can banging out the sounds for you. it was the impact of Framber 2022 vs. Adolis 2023 to say 25 innings in 4 outings across 3 series is was more impactful than Adolis setting LCS records is ignorant. Jordan Montgomery had the same level of pitching impact in 2023. hell there's a pitcher that does that every year. there aren't position players that dominate a series, let alone an entire post season run like Adolis did. that's why he set records. that's why astros fans will continue to hate him forever. that's why he got booed every at bat in MM after that.

That’s right! He had the series/playoff run of his life, but has otherwise been an ok to good player (sometimes awful) the rest of his career. He’s not near Framber if you compare their careers, and any denial that Framber was one of the most important players during a World Series win is ignorant.

@shoukAstros @annoyingastros he has the most RBIs all time in any LCS series. he hit .350 with 5 HRs and 15 RBIs. homered in 4 games straight. and dominated games 6 & 7. lol wut?

@data_wrangler2 @annoyingastros Garcia's playoff resume vs the Astros is so overrated lmao. Almost all the highlights came when the Rangers were already leading. Jordan Montgomery deserves more credit for shutting down the Astros offense. Same thing with Framber in 2022.

Honestly fuck this discourse. This would be like the Astros leaving up Valdez posters. He is actively playing for another team - you can appreciate what he did for your team but like how are you gonna defend leaving his pictures up when he’s going to inevitably go like 5/5 against your team opening day lmao

I get what you’re saying about brand vs. fan travel, but if we’re talking strictly baseball, I’d argue LSU Arkansas and Mississippi State are the bigger brands right now in terms of current visibility and momentum. Mississippi State basically invented SEC baseball and own all 25 attendance records. LSU has the highest attendance in the country for the last 10 years Arkansas is the face of SEC baseball. Is texas a big brand. Yes. Is it the biggest brand in college baseball. Not by the metrics I would use

@BevosBurner1 I’m not sure I would put Texas into the biggest brand category. LSU fans spent 100k on Jell-O shots in Omaha State has all 25 of the attendance records
