HOW MY CANADA VISA APPLICATION WAS APPROVED 🎉
So guys,
Applying for my Canada study visa from Nigeria was actually a long process, but once you understand the steps, e no too hard like that.
First thing I did was secure admission from the University of Sherbrooke Faculty of Medicine. That admission letter is very important because na the foundation of the whole application. After getting the admission, I started arranging my documents; international passport, birth certificate, WAEC result(you can't use NECO), admission letter, proof of funds, sponsor documents, bank statements, and every other supporting document.
The financial aspect is one of the biggest things they check. Canada wants to know if you can actually afford your tuition and living expenses without struggling. So I made sure the account statement was solid and consistent. No be all these last-minute millions wey just appear from nowhere nahh! They will suspect. Everything had to look genuine and explainable.
After gathering all the documents, I created an account on the IRCC portal and filled the study permit application online. I paid the application fee(for studies) — CAD $150(about 149k) and biometrics fee too—CAD $85( about 84k). Then I booked biometrics at the visa application center in Abuja where they took my fingerprints and passport photograph. You’ll normally apply online through IRCC, Pay the fees, Receive a Biometrics Instruction Letter (BIL),Book appointment with VFS
Go there for fingerprints and passport photograph in that order.
One thing I learned during the process is that your statement of purpose matters a lot. You need to explain properly why you chose Canada, why that school, why that course, and how it connects to your future plans. You have to sound convincing and realistic.
The waiting period na the real test of patience. Sometimes updates are slow and people dey overthink every small thing. Luckily, my parents also knew someone highly connected and experienced with the process who helped monitor things and follow up professionally to make sure everything was moving smoothly. That guidance honestly helped reduce stress because Canadian visa applications can sometimes be unpredictable.
Eventually, I got the passport request email, submitted my passport, and my visa got approved today 💃💃💃. That moment sweet die. After all the stress, document uploads, and waiting, seeing the approval felt very rewarding.
If anybody wants to apply, my advice is simple: make sure your documents are complete, your financial proof is strong, and don’t submit fake information. Canada checks things carefully. Once your profile is genuine and your application is well prepared, your chances become much better. Good luck 🤞
