@Boboye_Ak Because employees are looking for money and jobs are scarce. Also, these companies still will pay significantly higher than the local companies but less than what they’ll pay in the US. These happens in every market by the way, our economy and currency are just terrible.

Everyone is a rational economic actor. Why would an employee take a job that would have him working outside his timezone if he will earn the same working for a local company?

companies optimize for results and cost. if they can get similar output for less anywhere in the world, they will. that’s the reality of a global talent market. you’re not automatically earning $120k from ilorin just because someone in the US does, even if you’re BETTER.
