Really enjoyed that.
Thought we played really well with a side that hopefully is no where near the finished article.
Our build up play was really good. Daley and Cartwright did well, thought Castledine looked sharp too.
Another big goal for big D. 👊

Had this from an England fan this morning...
"Unpopular opinion, but if Tuchel cannot get this England squad playing, even after all the failures we've had over the years, the FA should seriously look to Sarina Wiegman.
Wiegman understands tournament football and she actually knows what it takes to win - not only get her team over the line once, but twice, as well as a World Cup final.
Euro 2022 winners, World Cup finalists 2023 and Euro winners again in 2025.
Some people will hate it, but we're running out of ideas."
Thoughts? 🏴🤔

Souness's parents lived in Saughton Mains, Edinburgh, where I grew up.
I got his autograph at his mother's door way back in 1978. I was 12 and he had just played for Scotland against England at Hampden in the home internationals that year.
Me and my pals guessed that he would visit his mother before heading back to Liverpool after the game. So we waited outside his mum's stair, four of us, sitting on the grass.
Sure enough he pulled up in a car with his brother driving. We were in literal awe of him as he got out and headed into the building, saying hello to us as he did.
I was chosen to go to the door and knock and ask for an autograph. He opened it and appeared like a giant. 'Can we have your autograph, please?' I asked.
'Wait there son,' he said.
Moments later he returned with four signed picture cards of himself.
I recall that later we walked round to the other side of his mother's building and could see through her kitchen window the England number-3 shirt of Mick Mills hanging up, obviously having just been washed.
Fast forward to 1986 and, working security, I was his bodyguard at a boxing event in Livingston when he was manager of Rangers. He was a pure gentleman then too.
Souness is a real one.

🏴 Graeme Souness says an unpleasant encounter with Cole Palmer changed his view of him: 🗣️ Souness: "I got a little insight in Dubai in February where he was extremely rude to someone in a restaurant."

Kim Hellberg will continue to use Tommy Conway on left side of #Boro attack next season.
🗣️ 'That level of quality he had in the last games was the best I've seen. I think you're looking at one of the best left wingers in the league, 100%'

@talkSPORT As good as Harry Kane has been , he needed to be subbed off after 60 mins ,his legs had gone and he couldn’t press , watch his attempt of closing down that give them a cheap corner before the goal
English

@Postecogniac Yea he was my fathers best player at Boro and still talks about him weekly and he seen Juninho at Boro
English

most Spurs fans never got to see just how world class Graeme Souness was. We talk about 6s, 8s and 10s. Souness was all THREE of them in one midfielder and world class at all of those roles.

Riley McGree provides Middlesbrough injury update!
RILEY McGree says he's getting stronger every day as he works his way back from the injury blow he suffered in Middlesbrough's Championship play-off final.
McGree was forced off late on against Hull City at Wembley in May, with the hamstring injury ruling the playmaker out of Australia's World Cup campaign.
McGree was limited to 18 Championship starts last season, but that was an improvement on the previous two campaigns and his first appearance didn't come until November after suffering a setback last summer.
Big season need from the aussie!

🚨 EXCL: Newcastle United make offer to sign Lucas Bergvall from Tottenham Hotspur. Proposal for 20yo midfielder £46m; turned down. #THFC rejected all bids so far (#NFFC lower + others higher than #NUFC) but will consider sale at right price @TheAthleticFC nytimes.com/athletic/74495…

@JimmyMu35984013 My fathers favourite Boro player ever , he talks about him still every week

If I were Cole Palmer, Phil Foden, Kobi Mainoo or Trent Alexander, I would refuse a call up to England squad under Tuchel in the future.
In the meantime, Kane should retire, Pickford should be replaced by James Trafford.
Quansah, Konsa and Nico O’Reilly and Livramento are not England class and should not be picked again.
Fast track Dowman from Arsenal and Rio Ngumoha from Liverpool into the England team. Bring in Lewis Mills from Newcastle, Adam Wharton from Palace.
Keep Rashford and Ivan Toney who should have been selected yes 3 years ago.
Bring in Eddie Howe or Frank Lampard or as a wild pick choose Kieron McKenna. Just get rid of Tuchel.

🚨🏴 A reporter asked Rio Ferdinand if winning another World Cup would make Messi the GOAT in his eyes.
🗣️Reporter: "Rio, would another World Cup be enough for you to call Messi the greatest of all time?"
🗣️Rio Ferdinand: "Messi could go on and win another world cup trophy, but that still wouldn't change my opinion that Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest footballer of all time.
Argentina won World Cups before Messi, so it's not as if they were never a football powerhouse. They've always been one of the biggest football nations.
"I believe Argentina had the quality to win the 2022 World Cup even without Messi. A seven-game tournament shouldn't be the only thing that defines who the greatest player in football history is.
Greatness is built over an entire career, and for me, Ronaldo still sets the standard."

@goodbadftblpod If Foden was fit to play Italy I believe we would of won as we had nobody to take hold of the ball ,he was playing out of his skin that tournament
English

@antmiddleton Fucksake with this Labour government in charge I wouldn’t want them to have a go 🤣 probs roll out the red carpet for them
English

@OliverKay He was fucked and legs had gone , it was his fault for the soft corner for Argies first goal , the press starts from the first man and he failed to press loads of times , should of been subbed at 60 mins but his name kept him on the field
English

Lots of people slagging off Harry Kane, saying he "never turns up" in the biggest games.
Obviously struggled vs Argentina, but he's had a great World Cup, scoring six goals despite mediocre service much of the time. No service whatsoever yesterday. Criticised for dropping deep, criticised for staying up front, criticised for not single-handedly winning the game when the team has completely stopped playing.
Think some people need to realise the problem with England isn't Harry Kane
