A great event today with a surprise appearance from John Evans, OBE @johnforrights. We also had the fantastic @RealCareUK, @perry_fleur and @WinVisibleWomen on our panel. What a line up!

@ColinSlasberg @RobMitch92 What a mighty escape route it was! The support people would need was also quickly recognised. The need for well resourced DP support (not just employment services) has been ignored for too long. DP is not the problem now, it’s the infrastructure (or lack of) around it.

@RobMitch92 Best come to terms with the reality that direct payments could never have been more than an escape route for the small minority with what it takes to employ their own staff. Systemic - not structural - change is required

BREAKING: Rishi Sunak U-turns on UK net zero goals.
The industries, billionaires & oligarchs with the greatest incentive to invest in politics are those involved in the dirtiest & most anti-social businesses.

This is utterly heartbreaking and a direct breach of the Care Act. Mrs Lees knows what she needs & is expressing it clearly. Unfortunately this is not an isolated case. So many people, many who can't express it, are facing similar. We must face up to the truth about social care.

@NorfolkCC Why are you not following the Care Act? Equality Act? Human Rights? Detained for a year by you. Crime? Having Multiple Sclerosis.
