Although the studio hired a professional choreographer, Elvis felt the steps looked too rigid. Wanting raw, explosive energy, he stepped in himself, inventing the famous sliding moves and pelvic thrusts that sparked nationwide controversy. Music historians often point to this scene as the first true concept music video, decades before MTV existed. More than a film moment, it became the template for modern pop performances and the visual language of future superstars.
