In my view several hate crimes occurred on Saturday at the Tommy Robinson Unite the Kingdom rally which crossed the line into criminality. The most obvious was the public ridiculing of Muslim women who wear the burqa. But the cumulative effect of five hours of non stop anti Muslim rhetoric must also be taken into account. The Met Police promised they would hold the organisers responsible for anything that occurred on stage. Therefore I am asking the @metpoliceuk to immediately arrest Tommy Robinson to hold him to account.

Blatant open racism against Muslim women at the Far Right rally. Any words of condemnation from our PM or leaders?! No, not a peep There is a clear hierarchy of racism in this country that is shocking & undeniable.

David Lammy isn't wrong here on Brexit- “Farage said it would bring down immigration, it hasn’t it’s got worse, Farage said we would be better off, we’re much much poorer, everyone across the country realises that, there were promises made and we should hold their feet to the fire”

@RmSalih Your comment is prejudicial stereotyping against concerned British people in their homeland. It’s the flip side of the “racism” smear—ideological intolerance dressed as anti-hate. Legitimate criticism of protest excesses is fine; blanket demonization of the demonstrators isn’t.

Tomorrow over 100,000 racists and Islamophobes will descend upon the UK capital London to display their hatred of Islam and Muslims. This in a city where over one million Muslims reside and which is majority ethnic minority. Shame on the UK for allowing this brazen display of anti Muslim hatred to take place. Would they allow an explicitly anti Jewish march to take place? No they wouldn't. And before the morons in the comments start replying, the pro Palestine marches that have been happening for two years are NOT anti Jewish, they are anti Israel and anti Zionist. I want to see Muslims all over the world express their outrage over this march, including Muslim nations who should be registering their protest at the highest levels. And decent non Muslims should be raising their voices too. This mass display of Islamophobia and racism should be BANNED. It is a huge SHAME on this nation. Absolutely disgusted and appalled.

Like yesterday’s fish and chip papers, @wesstreeting will soon be cold and greasy and giving off a foul odour. Next for the scrap heap will be @AndyBurnhamGM for his ill-advised and ill-timed leadership bid. I’m afraid he will fail to become an MP, Reform will almost certainly benefit. Me? #IStandWithStarmer who, despite all the nonsense of some spineless MP’s is getting on with the job. @UKLabour have virtually thrown it all away. I despair with the idiocy.

So Wes Streeting throws his political career away. He will never be Prime Minister. Succumbed to his own ambition. @wesstreeting @UKLabour

There are many diverse opinions relating to the current political situation. And it’s all been driven by recent electoral results The word is @Keir_Starmer isn’t popular . WHY? Maybe politicians need to step into our world? Maybe they can’t see the wood for the trees?

I’m not a betting man, but if I was, I’d say Makerfield will vote Reform. I think the mayoralty of Manchester will go to Reform too. Secretly, I almost hope they do. Despite the hype, Burnham is NOT some superman sent to save @UKLabour, far from it. This is going to go horribly wrong, and all because a few spineless wankers couldn’t hold the party line and panicked. I fucking despair. #StandWithStarmer #BackOffBurnham
Andy Burnham@AndyBurnhamGM

I can confirm that I will be requesting the permission of the NEC to stand in the Makerfield by-election. I grew up in this area and have lived here for 25 years. I care deeply about it and its people. I know they have been let down by national politics. Ten years ago, I decided to leave Westminster. Why? Because, after 16 years, I came to the conclusion that our national political system does not work for areas like ours. I learnt this fighting its failure to invest in the Wigan borough, for justice for the Hillsborough families and against its treatment of Greater Manchester during the pandemic. Over the last decade, I have been challenging this failure from the outside and building a new and better way of doing politics. We have built Greater Manchester into the fastest-growing city-region in the UK and put buses back under public control, introducing a £2 fare cap to help people with cost-of-living pressures. However, there is only so much that can be done from Greater Manchester. Much bigger change is needed at a national level if everyday life is to be made more affordable again. This is why I now seek people’s support to return to Parliament: to bring the change we have brought to Greater Manchester to the whole of the UK and make politics work properly for people. Millions are struggling and they need the Labour Government to succeed. It has already made changes to make life better for them in its first two years. After this week, we owe it to people to come back together as a Labour movement, giving the Prime Minister and the Government the space and stability they need as the by-election takes place. I want to recognise the difficult decision taken by Josh Simons and the sacrifice he and his family are making. I have worked closely with him as Mayor on issues like flooding and illegal waste dumping and have seen first-hand how effective he has been. He has put the communities of Makerfield first, made a real difference for them and should take great pride in that. Finally, I truly do not take a single vote for granted and will work hard to regain the trust of people in the Makerfield constituency, many of whom have long supported our party but lost faith in recent times. We will change Labour for the better and make it a party you can believe in again. ENDS

I’m asking you, Labour Party WHY are you doing this? Why are you pressing the self destruct button? There’s 3 years before the next general election. That’s plenty of time to turn things around.

Keir Starmer has what it takes. No glum face, just getting on with the job of government with wit and good humour. Excellent. @UKLabour, and particularly to those that might challenge him or remove their support for him, look and learn, yeah? We want him to stay. You need to hang your heads in shame for your spineless disloyalty.

All of this is traced back to #Brexit. The people who voted leave have ruined us. We’ve lost money, we’ve lost credibility and it seems we’ve lost a stable democracy. Thank you leave voters, #wetoldyouso and continue to tell you so, but you just never bloody listen.
