@daveindiedev @mattdotj why it's not a good idea? depends on your objectives if you want more cash right now, it's a decent strategy if you know your users on average stay subscribed 3 months because they're giving up OR they've reached their goals sooner

@mattdotj @david_attisaas It’s fine, but I’m worried that offering a lifetime plan will hurt long-term revenue. For consumable apps, a lifetime plan isn’t a good idea.

a user LITERALLY paid $500 in just weekly subscriptions over a year or so 1 weird thing i noticed in my little app: users are more likely to pay $7/week ($28/m) than ONLY $45/year. i can’t tell if this is psychology but it’s kinda crazy… maybe it just looks “cheaper” ?

Okay, I guess this will balance out the happiness & excitement I felt after launching Pineapple Log 😂 Maybe I deserved it, or maybe he/she was just having a bad day or a rough time in life. My app is completely free right now, ad-free too. No AI features, no tracking, no unnecessary permissions, local storage. It’s honestly just a nice-to-have app I made for fun. I still don’t really understand why it made someone so angry that they gave it 1 star 😂 Or maybe he/she really hates seeing non-tech people like me trying to do something. Anw, have a great Sunday everyone 🤗

When your app serves a seasonal need, you have to accept that users will cancel their subscription and then resubscribe when they need it, rather than keeping it continuously. Launch an MVP → listen to user feedback → upgrade and improve. It’s enough to solve the user’s real problem; there’s no need to do more. Btw, one of my users just resubscribed to the premium plan after canceling it for more than 3 months. 😭

Quit-smoking app - Day #9 The basic logic tasks are done. Today, I’ll work on implementing the notification feature and the paywall for the app. It seems I didn’t manage to reach the goal I intended to submit for review today. I still need more time for additional testing. The illustration is unrelated😅
