just noted there's a "not interested in this post" feature and been pressing it quite a bit this morning. Is it just me or has Financial X changed quite a bit recently and for the worse?

A change of plan for me over the weekend. I’m setting off on holiday later today, which is partly to do with it. Further escalation of the war now seems to me like the only available path out of this for the US, as I can’t see Iran backing down (hope I’m wrong). I’ve sold all trading positions for a small profit. 1% loss on #PEEL and a small profit on my FTSE100 basket. Only sold PEEL for holiday reasons really. I think, on balance, it’s more likely that I will be able to buy the FTSE basket back cheaper. Obviously, I might be wrong and miss out on a sudden reversal if we get surprise resolution, but I can’t have it both ways. So, back to 100% cash for now (excluding long term account) and off on my jollies I go. Back in a week 👍🏻

To do this, you will need to radically change the legal system back to the true, “separation of powers.” Get rid of the “yes men” such as Lord Falconer who fall into line with the Labour Party rather than act in a truly independent manner. Only when that country has the true separation of powers returned, will the systems and controls of government start to work again for the benefit of the people.

There continues to be an immense amount of fake news circulating around Restore Britain’s principles of immigration. Here is our position. Read it, and let me know if you agree… Step one. Remove the illegal migrant population. Two million? Three million? Even more? Doesn’t matter. They will all be detained, and they will all be deported. We will of course start with the third world invaders and foreign criminals - this is a day one priority. A Restore Britain Government would launch the largest deportation scheme in British history - we have the plan, we’ve already published the most comprehensive deportation scheme ever released. 100+ pages of it. We know how to do it. Now we are seeking the power to implement it. The illegals are the priority. Foreign criminals go too, but that doesn’t even need discussing anymore. They’re out the door on the first flight home. What happens to them in their own country is not our problem. Step two. Legal migrants who can’t speak English, refuse to work, claim benefits, live in social housing, hate our way of life or even actively want to do us harm? They go too - hopefully voluntarily. If not, they will be removed. Dual nationals who want to kill us? Strip them off their British citizenship and send them back. Foreign Islamists, gone. Dual national Islamists, gone. If foreigners want to live in an Islamic country, we will make that a reality for them. This would all be twinned with drastic reductions of the number of people settling in the country, and I mean drastic. It will be in the thousands, not the hundreds of thousands. Who can come? Ultra high-skilled migrants to fill gaps, and spouses of British men and women. We would ease that process, allowing Brits to bring their husband/wives into our country without the endless bureaucracy, red tape and cost - allowing them to build a family. That is positive immigration. We will encourage it. All done alongside our Red List. If a country is proven to supply us with sex pests, rapists, criminals and illegals? We will shut off entire visa routes. We will discriminate based on the evidence. Afghanistan would be top of that list. Those Afghans who came following the data breach would be removed and relocated. All of them. The asylum system would be abolished in its entirety. ILR would be scrapped. Benefits for foreign nationals would be cancelled. Social housing currently filled with foreigners would be freed for British families. The whole immigration scam would finally end. When a visa ends, that individual will be expected to leave Britain - that principle will be enforced for the first time in decades. And here’s a mad idea. Our aim would be to train the millions of healthy Brits on benefits to do these jobs. This is just so painfully obvious. If they don’t like it, they lose their universal credit. Simple. None of this is complicated. It just takes balls. The number of people living in Britain would radically reduce - millions would go during the first five years of a Restore Britain Government. Millions. Our immigration system would put one group of people at the top of the agenda. The British people. If you want all of this - vote for it. Join Restore Britain, support Restore Britain. Put us in power, and we will get it done. I promise you that.

@MelJStride Yawn 🥱. Just like you got rid of IR35 like you promised… oh; but you didn’t. Just like you followed through on all your promises last time you won the election? Except, … you didn’t! Lies, lies and more damned lies. Can’t be trusted! Voting Restore.

Service Announcement😉 Quick one to say I'm shortly off on my holidays for a week, so there won't be that much(not nothing!) from me for a while(I think the background cheering there was a BIT unseemly🤔) Keep the markets steady for me and defuse the Middle East issues please!

Well, I’ve taken the plunge. I have always been 100% trader, 0% investor. I have today started a long-term investment account. I have segregated about 12% of my ISA trading capital and put it into 10 stocks with the focus on quality and income. Income will be reinvested to compound over time. The reason for this is that I specialise in trading small-caps, which is difficult to scale. I never utilize all of the funds in my account, so quite a lot of it is always just sat there. So, the idea is to pay myself a salary each year from trading (as I have been doing), keep a healthy amount for trading and put any excess profits into the investment account. I’m sticking to what I know (and avoiding FX) with UK companies. I’ve been waiting for a dip to start this and have taken the plunge this morning (sods law, WWIII will kick off now and the market will implode!). Anyway, it’s done. Picks are below (equal weighting). Legal & General #LGEN Aviva #AV. HSBC #HSBA NatWest Group #NW. National Grid #NG. United Utilities #UU. Imperial Brands #IMB Rio Tinto #RIO XP Pensions #XPS M&G #MMG Wish me luck. #Investing #trading

Some life in previous metal this morning, hope it’s reflected in a much needed lift to the share price of #omi which has nearly halved in the past fortnight. A massive anomaly with the #gold price and the share price imho.

How would a Restore Britain Government support small businesses? First step, and possibly the most important. We understand the problems and trust me, I know how difficult it is. I’ve been there, I’ve done it. The effort that goes into keeping a small firm profitable and operational is vast, and NOBODY in Government understands that. THE most important way to help small businesses is tax. GET IT DOWN. Corporation tax - we should be aiming for the lowest in Europe. Undercut our neighbours, take their business. Be ruthless. Make Britain the most attractive place to operate on the continent. Watch how the money then flows in. Rates will slashed on income and dividend, thresholds pushed up. We must urgently reward success. NI not raised, but cut. If we want businesses to hire, MAKE IT CHEAPER. Because what happens when employment gets more expensive? Costs get passed on. Contracts stall. Hiring cancelled. Investment is paused. It grinds the economy to a halt. Businesses stop spending money. They wait and see. Everyone suffers. IR35 will go in the bin on day one. Things change, contracts change, circumstances change. IR35 accounts for none of that, adding layers of unnecessary paperwork and regulation. Flexibility matters. VAT threshold would be doubled. There are so many businesses hovering just under £90k, desperately avoiding VAT. Fair enough, I don’t blame them. So let’s hike the threshold and unleash that demand. We would like to see a tax holiday for small businesses in the first few years - give them the breathing space they need to grow and find their feet. HMRC will pick up the phone, and you will be able to speak to an advisor who can actually speak fluent English. What a mad shock that would be... We will end the HR-ification of Britain that is used to blackmail employers. Regulatory frameworks that are used to suffocate small businesses will be burnt away. Farage attacks private sector employees working from home. I couldn’t give a shit where people choose to work. If the employer and employee are happy, then it’s none of our business. Failing public sector officials? Different story. Business rates for small businesses, abolished. We will brutally crack down on illicit trading - does Britain need so many Turkish barbers and vape shops? The answer, quite obviously, is no. Let’s be honest about what’s really often going on here. Money laundering. There would be free car parking in high streets all over Britain. These little gnomes in councils have no idea. If parking is free at the retail parks, people will just go there. Let’s encourage them back into our high streets - that means tackling crime too, obviously, but one step a time here... Licensing laws, planning bureaucracy, council red tape. We will obliterate it all. Let’s back British hospitality. Cut VAT, business rates abolished and burn back the endless nonsense they have to deal with. Ease laws on closing times and fast-track permits for outdoor seating. If people want to enjoy a late night drink or two, it's none of our business to tell them otherwise. Restore Britain will put those jumped-up little council bastards back in their box. I promise you that. Inheritance tax will be abolished. If a family wants to pass their business down the generations, then Government must not stand in the way. Tax has been paid, there should not be another bill following a death. It’s wicked and cruel. Above all else - businesses need stable, long term thinking. The Budget should be a complete non-event, other than further tax cuts. This can all be funded by brutalising down the fraudulent state that has become the enemy of the people. And let me tell you this. ANYBODY who gets business will understand that these measures will pay for themselves many times over. If we reward hard work, then we’ll get more of it. More tax will be paid, and the economy will boom. These are just my initial thoughts on what a Restore Britain Government would do. We would create an environment in which it's easy to do business, and then we would leave you the hell alone. The message is this to small business owners... Restore Britain is on your side. You finally have a political party that will fight for your interests.

I’ve held OMI for some time. Only went in to SML on Friday after it was highlighted by others and I saw their Report on Friday. Thank you for posting about them, it gives me confidence I am on the right track with the sort of shares I wouldn’t ordinarily buy. 🙏. Much appreciated.

Never experienced a day like this for metal prices, truly mental. More fortunes lost today and mass liquidations a very few would have gained handsomely but I reiterate very few nimble traders. Sadly came under two days late for me. C’est la vie. I will try enjoy my birthday!

So here’s where I’m struggling at the moment. If I take profits (and my gains are such that I really would like to), what do I buy instead? Keeping it in fiat cash feels dangerous. Buying stocks feels dangerous. Buying alternative funds/ETFs feels dangerous. So, my question is for Vince and everyone else on this thread. If you take profits from PMs at this juncture, what would you buy instead?

Guys, I’m getting a ton of messages and texts from people hitting the ball out of the park. Lots of thank yous. I’m truly happy for everyone. Nobody knows what’s going on. Nobody knows how this will end. The only thing I would say to you is this: please, please, please do not celebrate until you’ve taken at least half of the profits off the table. Do not fucking celebrate until you’ve taken half of the profits off the table. I don’t care about anyone but you (after me) and your brain when this is over. Do not celebrate until you take half of your profits off the table. The damage of giving profits back after celebrating is something you cannot recover from if it’s big enough. Just do not celebrate until you’ve taken half your profits off the table. There are people out there who will lecture you about not getting excited, about not dancing, because they’ll say you’re taking money from other people. I’m sympathetic to that. I understand the sentiment. But that’s not why you don’t celebrate . But here’s what I’m telling you. This is not the movie The Big Short. The scene was bullshit. You dance when you’ve taken profits. You do not celebrate until you’ve taken at least 1/2 the money off the table. Why? Because if you celebrate and then give the money back, it will wreck you mentally and it can ruin you for years. Do not celebrate until you take the money off the table. I’ve been there. If you have life-changing money on the table, first change your life. Then celebrate.
