@TinCup2020 @practicalgolf That a great point re sole grind on wedges. The question then is how do you accurately fit sole grind inside (retail store)?

I worked in golf retail for about 10 years and went thru training for club fitting. (Which is a whole other subject in itself.) Suffice to say your comments are pretty accurate. I'd say the sole grind on wedges is most important. Turf interaction and understanding the types of grasses you play on are incredibly important to average players being fit. The reason being most average golfers don't hit very many greens in regulation so they spend a lot of shots around the green and out of bunkers. Understanding the dynamics between sole and turf and be vital to their success. (Along with lessons!!! Yet another topic for long form discussion.)

3 years ago Mark had missed at Q-school and he was going to be done playing. I convinced him to play one more year, we would do a show around it. He agreed, he got an exemption to the Cuda. Made that cut. He kept playing. The next year he got an exemption into Pebble, made the cut. Was top 20 heading into the final round. Those were amazing experiences, he let me tag along in both. The best golf experiences of my life. But I also, by convincing him to keep playing, also prolonged the misery and financial hardships that come with this game. Feel pretty terrible about that. Today he missed at Q-school. Had an amazing run to start today after struggling the first three days. He was 6-under thru 12 but finished 3 under. No excuses, have to play well at the right times. Bad week to have a bad week. I sent a text to his wife Sarah and said I was sorry and that Steph and I loved them. Maybe that's it, maybe he tries to get into Q-school for LIV, maybe he plays next year. Maybe he starts giving lessons. No decisions need to be made for a bit. No matter what we will still work our asses off to bring you the best content we can. Thanks to all of you for following along. On to the next.
