Anyone want to explain to me why we didn't just give Hong Kong a free vote of 1) become a dominion of the UK (Canada style) 2) independence 3) become part of China? I always felt Margaret Thatcher was surprisingly dovish toward China. They were not the power then they are now.

@Paul__Walsh Not all bots aim to be more trades/HFT. Some are desktop software not cloud ie. not sharing with crypto founder, hence wondering where you see risk. Turns out exchanges do allow limit per market/wallet & functions.

@davestone Bots = more trades. It’s well established in FX but I wouldn’t trust any crypto founders because few have a track record in anything remotely similar to what they’re building today. Too much risk and undesirable outcomes can be life changing.

I've been building APIs for 15+ years and have been killing the phishing thing for crypto people since 2017, and others since before that It's possible customers fell for a reverse-proxy phishing attack, but... All the evidence points to @3commas_io being compromised
Turgut Oztunc@turgut_oztunc

On 24th October my @binance account was attacked and attacker stole around 17 BTC from my account by performing unusual orders in my account via API. When I check order history i saw that there are more than 180 buy/sell order in just 1.30 hours.

@Paul__Walsh Sure. And companies should do more (limit trade no. or markets per API key etc). But, you're not seeing network level attacks on API keys? It's users/product vuln. exposing keys?

@davestone I personally think it’s mind boggling to think anyone would give full API access to a crypto wallet to any company in crypto. It’s only going to end in pain as we’re seeing now. Batshit crazy.

I've done enough research to say that it's really hard to know if everyone fell for phishing or if the company was compromised. The evidence suggests the latter but it's hard to know for sure. I don't advise anyone to use any APIs for crypto trades - crazy insecure.

@Paul__Walsh Declined VC1; DD had me uneasy. Accepted VC2 without said unease; attempted what VC1 were doing anyway. Everyone lost.

I refused investment from a VC in SV while telling another that they weren't a good fit for us: 1. VC wanted to invest through another portfolio co 2. VC introduced himself to my female colleague as if they never met, 3 times. Remembered me like a friend. Who else has declined?

Why aren’t concert tickets being sold on the blockchain yet? Isn’t that a very obvious use case for NFTs? (NFT = digital receipt) Refunds are automated, and everyone benefits from secondary sales that can be capped at whatever everyone thinks is fair. Everything is automated.

Google forces every website owner to implement encryption for consumer privacy, but when you use a VPN for privacy they completely block you because it makes it harder for them to track you. Checking the box doesn’t work. I must disable the VPN first.

It took me 5mins to fix the process for Twitter Verified. Me doing this is like an electrician walking into your home and saying "here's how you turn the lights on". I feel for the Twitter Trust team but they don't know how this is supposed to work. @elonmusk you're welcome.

New product idea: corporate training software where they give you all the multiple choices up front and if you get 100% you don't have to sit through an hour of animated videos.

@simplybastow @appkettlevision This has happened to a few IoT products. The route forward is a local hub that manages, which (optionally) updates from an app store based on what one buys. If only devices with app stores existed...

@Paul__Walsh My experience of eSIMs hasn't been great, maybe ≈75% works. No idea how to turn a SIM to eSIM though. Worry about that when I've an upgrade plan.

Uh oh, no SIM tray in US models which means people can’t use a local SIM in any country that doesn’t support eSIMs. I don’t like this.

OMG I want a new Apple Watch. I’m certified as an advanced open water diver (certainly not advanced in terms of skills and experience - that requires a lot of practice, which I don’t do). Snowboarding is my main thing these days - a different kind of excitement.
