There has been a lot of talk today about the Artemis ll rocket to the Moon being tracked by the Goonhilly Down tracking station, Cornwall. This is me aged 9 at Goonhilly, on a family holiday in the summer of 1963. Happy Days.....

The Artemis II rocket is taking four astronauts around the Moon tonight, further than anyone has been before. Amazing. Memories of a fantastic day at Cape Canaveral, Florida in September 2014 whilst on a family holiday. They stayed around the theme parks. No regrets on my part !!

Exclusive!!! What a scoop for @DerbyshireCCC who are to become the first county cricket club to install a roof over their HQ ground. The ground at Derby, home to Derbyshire since 1870, will undergo a transformation over the coming three years to produce a venue capable of hosting cricket regardless of the weather, as well as a plethora of other activities. The domed roof will be over 75 metres high at its highest point and is shown here in the finalised architect's impression. The opening ceremony, which will dovetail with the opening game of the 2029 season, will see Derbyshire's players abseil into the arena from the rooftop...

Mary Rand, the original Golden Girl of British athletics, has died. Some years ago, I went out to Lake Tahoe in Nevada to speak to her. She was a trailblazer, the first British woman to win Olympic gold in track-and-field. And she was the best company dailymail.co.uk/sport/otherspo…

Sad news about the death of Mary Rand, a brilliant English athlete who won three medals at the 1964 Olympics in Rome. She won the long jump gold plus a silver and bronze. As a 10 year old, she was a star to me. Someone got her autograph for me a while later at a sporting dinner…

Back earlier this month from a week in Lanzarote. Enjoyed it but there was not much sun. A biting north wind meant coats were required a lot of the time....

@deanocity3 Contrast this with the current situation. No player has come through the Academy & played 50 first team games since Josh Eccles who first played EIGHT years ago in 2018. Remarkable bearing in mind the time, cost & effort put into the Academy by many, including volunteers.
