This is decades of policy failure in real time. Good intentions and warm words allowed to gather dust. The hospice sector is on a burning bridge. If it goes, many, many more will die in pain and distress. Time is running out. Heads in sand won’t fix it.

One of the many things I love about @StLeonardsYork. On the wall in the room we use for board meetings. Keeping us focussed on why we’re there and the things that matter.

It’s @StLeonardsYork Board of Trustees meeting later. Like lots of hospices we’re facing a growing financial deficit but also seeing incredible work in our teams and an energy for growing our income gen. Working lunch for one as I reread papers and plan ahead 😋

Water still pouring out. No sign of any repairs. My water bill has had another massive inflation busting increase though.

@david3012 Hi David, we have been out several times to this and there are no leaks coming from the Yorkshire Water network. This is a ground water issue and needs to be handled by the Environment Agency. – Yorkshire Water Social Team

@YWHelp I reported this problem to @CityofYork. They says it’s not their responsibility. Can you please resolve this between yourselves.

The language here (and seen elsewhere) really aggravates me. The laws are tagetting GAY MEN. Again. Theres nothing wrong or exclusionary in naming that. There are very specific threats we face that are minimised by the use of generic and in this care incorrect acronyms.

In my experience, those who talk the loudest about kindness and inclusion are often the least kind and least inclusive unless you agree with everything they say.

@david3012 Hi David. The job of our technicians is to make sure there is not an issue within our network and if there is, to get it rectified. Surface water presence is often due to just heavy downpours; not an actual water leak itself . - Yorkshire Water Social Team
