Having lived in a 99% Hispanic city my whole life, I felt a bit out of place at first, mostly for superficial reasons: I'm Hispanic and shorter than probably 70-80% of the people here. But everyone is friendly and polite. Friendlier than Hispanics actually…I live in an affluent area, which I think makes a huge difference. People are always outdoors cycling, running, or walking their dogs. There are always kids' baseball practices with families watching and people at the park. You can leave something outdoors and no one will take it. It's really nice. I love it. It's the kind of community I'd raise my kids in. Where I come from, it was also really safe. I could leave my laptop outside a Starbucks, go to the restroom, come back, and it'd still be there.
