The real trouble about the duty of forgiveness is that you do it with all your might on Monday and then find on Wednesday that it hasn't stayed put and all has to be done over again. C. S. Lewis, June 1960 letter

To recap: 1. A serial violent offender shot a homeless woman in Austin and basically went home and said on his own Nest camera that he just killed and told his woman to clean up the blood. The DA let him go. 2. I posted about it on X, which led CBS News to ask Garza, who was forced to put out a perfunctory statement 10 days ago about hearts being with victims family etc etc. 3. CBS News asked Garza about the victim yesterday and Garza appeared to be focused about what was even being asked. Basically said the case doesn't ring a bell, and went on to say that the real problems of public safety have to do with high gas prices and not enough government social services to help people economically. Her name was Kelly Meazell. She was 35.

10 days ago, DA Garza responded to our coverage of the brutal killing of an Austin homeless woman by giving a perfunctory statement that there was not enough evidence to proceed and that “our hearts continue to break for the Meazell family.” Today he was asked about the case and he told the reporter he’s not familiar with the case.

I read everywhere about the 'hard right' This the term used to describe people who are Islamosceptic - that is, people who are doubtful about the merits of a religion that demands child marriage, the beating of women, and death to all who oppose it Perhaps 'sensible right' would be a better description

A “card-carrying dispensationalist” pastor was the first to make me see that the whole Bible fit together and that every word was true. An anti-Calvinist Arminian showed me to how to do personal evangelism while in college. An ERAS/EFS-teaching theologian introduced me to systematic theology with his best-selling single-volume systematic. These are but a few examples of saints the Lord has used in my life to help me grow in my love for God and his word. Today, I depart from each of them on important subjects—even strongly in some regards. But I cannot be anything but grateful for the way that the Lord has used all kinds of faithful, Jesus-loving believers to bring me where I am today. How could my posture toward such saints, even in disagreement, be anything but one that reflects the Lord’s kindness to me through them?

I was about to get on here and confess to yall that I didn’t have any self control today at my daughter’s birthday party. . 🥳 It’s not entirely true though. I had some self control. Is some self control enough? Did I sin by allowing myself to indulge in more than I would have otherwise? 🤔. I felt disgusting tonight I’ll tell you that. I’ll probably be hurting tomorrow. I’m trying to go back and think of what I consumed, and honestly it’s not all that bad.. it really was probably the equivalent of a whole big donut 🍩 plus one Trader Joe’s ice cream 🍦 bon bon.. 😬 a slice of cheese pizza 🍕 and one with meat and veggies, and a bowl of salad 🥗. Man yall should see the donuts this place had. Wow. More in comments. Ok, after hashing that out on here I don’t feel as bad about it. 😂 it’s because I kept having a slice here and a slice there bit by bit (I didn’t intend on having any really 😬) it felt like more. Thank you for working through this with me. 😂 It did feel like there could be a sermon illustration in here. 🧐 the devil was trying to get me to feel guilt where there was no reason to! Ok I’ll show you what I ate yesterday in comments
