I’m so tired of all the Caitlin Clark hate from some players. The fans and the media clearly understand the once in a generation level player Caitlin Clark is. When Jordan, Lebron, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Usain Bolt, Tom Brady and Messi came on the scene, everyone didn’t like them but they recognized their greatness and respected it while competing their butt off to stop them. They didn’t vote them low on purpose. The WNBA players voted Caitlin Clark as the 9th best guard in the WNBA. Dear lord baby Jesus. That’s an average of the votes by the way, so that means some players purposely voted her out of the top 15 for her to land at #9. Allisha Gray, Paige Bueckers, Sabrina Ionescu and Skylar Diggins are all balling out, extremely talented and deserving of their position in the league as well as any other WNBA All Stars. Clark has only played 9 of 16 games this year and you could legitimately argue that it’s fair that she isn’t voted the #1 guard by the players for that reason alone. But Caitlin Clark is a Top 5 guard in the WNBA this season. But to vote her 9th when she gets full court pressed, body slammed and excessively fouled by every team she faces? That’s not 9th best guard treatment. It’s certainly a choice to rank a guard who averages less points, assists, rebounds, steals, blocks and 3 point shooting percentage despite Clark’s most recent shooting struggles. That’s the clearest sign of hate for Caitlin Clark there could be. Oh and Kelsey Plum is averaging the most points of any guard in the WNBA and the players voted her the 16th best guard. Lord have mercy man. Players are supposed to get it right more than the fans and the media because they know what it takes and what it looks like. Not all WNBA Players are to blame and not all of them hate or are jealous of Caitlin Clark. But, the players that voted her low got it wrong in this case and some WNBA players are letting their jealously of Caitlin Clark get in the way of greatness for the entire WNBA. The only question I have is why. Can we have an honest conversation about it? Why do you think some players don’t respect, hate or are jealous of Caitlin Clark after all she has said to support them?
