We lost something truly amazing in the world when The Designers Republic shut down. This was peak, imho the original Mirrors Edge was a worthy successor to some of this in terms of world design, but the logos & UI design still has little competition in gaming.

No other RPG has managed to make the sprites on 3D look this cohesive. Not in decades! It's not any single thing, it's that the Xenogears team executed it so flawlessly, especially in regards to composition, level of detail and very specific color design.

In The Dark Knight Rises, Bane’s entrance hits different because the scene makes him look like some random prisoner at first. But the moment we see his face, he completely takes over. Even Nolan said Tom Hardy’s Bane is yet to be “fully appreciated.”
