Quick update: I retired from professional baseball on Monday. Thank you to the entire @Rangers organization for the opportunity to chase a childhood dream. Many thanks to friends, teammates, and coaches that have been there for me every single day. This time was unforgettable.

Last and alone is the Alpha Male.   He controls everything from the back. In that position, he can see everything, and provide direction.   He can see the whole team.  The pack moves according to the elders' pace and draw on one another.

Check out this picture of a wolf pack... what do you see? Did you know that the first 3 are the elderly or sick They give the direction and pace to the entire pack..  If it was the other way round, they would be left behind, losing contact with the pack.
