What’s lost in the drama is the fact that Usyk showed that incredible will and determination to come from behind and get to Rico in the end. The ref stopping it as he did also prevented Usyk from being given credit for such a dramatic comeback victory. #UsykRico #boxing

@Fowler09IsGod No. After the minutes rest u can assess. The corner - Peter Fury is very experienced - could assess if he feels Rico has recovered, then the ref sees him stand and walk to the centre. If in doubt. Stop it then.

💯 mate. But my issue is mainly that the bell went first. He could have just let him go to the corner and assess after the break. We’ve seen fighters before look gone at the bell after a hiding but then come back out ok. Not saying he would have recovered. Actually think it was done. But, that minute gives u the opportunity.

@davidcoldwell When Rico stumbled to the corner seemingly not knowing where he was to put his Gumshield in that put the ref on red alert he was just looking for a reason to stop it I would’ve been livid if that was me or one of my fighters but I’m a fighter not a ref whose job is to protect

Rico was fantastic tonight. Took what he’s learnt in the short time he’s focused on boxing and stuck to it regardless of the success he was having. Didn’t get carried away. Very close to causing one of the biggest upsets ever. Massive respect to him and his team. Proved the majority of us all wrong. #UsykRico

I’ve said since his last fight I wanted Usuk to retire. Age and wear and tear catch up on everyone. Usyk doesn’t look as tho he has it in him. Add that to Rico being so tricky, loose handed, sharp punching with a unique rhythm that’s not only working offensively but also defensively and add that he’s boxing smart, this has been a disaster for Usyk. #UsykRico

Usyk looks so bad throughout the first three. Slow, not the same moves and missing while getting nailed with big shots. Rico awkward but very effective movement with sharp punches winning everything so far. #usykrico
