My favorite work day of the year is our KDE Office of Education Technology’s annual KY K-12 student technology leadership program’s (STLP) state championship and yesterday it didn’t disappoint. This is STLP’s 32nd year and the 20th year of our state championship. Attended all!

We are so truly grateful to Indiana State Trooper and US Army National Guardsman Samual Miller for his timely attention and quick decision making to help save the life of our grandson. Saw him today plus older sister was 3 of 3 hitting in her first softball game. 😎🫡

Am saddened by passing of KY’s all-time winningest high school football coach, eastern KY’s Philip Haywood. Will always be grateful to him for writing the following letter in 2018 for my younger brother Joey. The letter says a lot about the high quality of both of them.

Outside the stadium, can recall getting a bunch of free samples of a new flavor of Doritos (i.e., Ranch) that Doritos was starting to launch. Still love the Doritos, don’t love these 2025 ticket prices that are $3000-7000. Watching at home this time.

In 1989, took a wild hair trip with my wife & daughter to the NCAA football championship game, from Ft Huachuca to Tempe. Found great tics from a saint that got us all in for $31. So wild hair trips can work out. Definitely got the military family discount on that one. 🏈😎

@MadDog_TX Correct, all have to pay at least the same qualifying credits (i.e., 40) as anyone else. This was bipartisan Act passed overwhelmingly by 325 in the US House and by 76 in the US Senate. This correction is long overdue that started about 20 years in Congress.

@davidcouch So you still have to pay in the same qualifying amounts 40 credits and then receive your proper amount?

Someone explain the Social Security Fairness Act. I feel like every law passed is the opposite of the name. So does this mean those who have not participated in contributing to Social Security are now due Social Security?

@MadDog_TX Yes. Police, firefighters, postal workers, K-12 teachers that had two careers (aka WEP) and K-12 teachers who are widows of spouses (aka GPO) like my Dad of were the most unfairly penalized by social security administration taking 65% or all of what they normally should get.

@davidcouch Dave forgive me, I’m still wrapping my head around this. So you paid 15 years in Army, but then didn’t pay for your civilian time due to the school system pay? But then received only 35% SS in retirement?

Jonny Quest is my all-time fav cartoon. Like me, was birthed in the 1960s. The science, technology, quality of the story lines and international setting still make it relevant today. My 1st dog was named Bandit. As I’ve aged, have more of a Race Bannon going look now 😏
