Wonderful coverage about Ipswich's City of Culture bid by the BBC. Our town has made real progress over the last year and there's so much to be proud of, but there's still work to do. We'll prove these aren't momentary bright spots, but the building blocks of our new future.

Ipswich Museum conservation for the redevelopment . A Victorian glass dome of birds. Dome carefully removed and glass cleaned. Birds cleaned with Symperonic and swabs. Crushed feathers returned to shape with cold steam. Some birds repositioned for safety. Work by Ashely and Peter

Lovely to visit 90 year old Ken Weetch, who was MP for Ipswich from 1974-1987. He told me about the defining events of his time in Parliament & was interested in my experience as an MP & Schools Minister today. Thank you to his lovely family & Manor House staff for the scones!

Today, we pay tribute to the former Mayor of Ipswich Dr. Albert Grant OBE (1934 - 2024). A dedicated public servant, Albert's tireless commitment to our community has left an indelible mark on the town he so dearly loved. In recognition of his service to Ipswich, the Town Hall flags are flying at half-mast to mark his funeral today. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
