@Judge_Leben @UMKCLaw @kulawschool @washburnlaw I am privileged to serve on the K-State Pre-Law Advisory Council. I would love to have the opportunity to speak with #ksleg about our Kansas law and pre-law students and about this. Which means I will certainly try.

I would add that we have lots of good law students at @UMKCLaw interested in doing public-defense work. I’m sure @kulawschool and @washburnlaw do too. Expanding public defense now could reap lasting dividends. A key note: public defenders help maintain the rights we all share.

The Legislature faces a key budget decision on funding constitutionally required attorneys for felony defendants who can’t afford them. The most economical way to provide constitutionally adequate attorneys is with good full-time public defenders. kansasreflector.com/2025/01/15/leg…
