@EduCaiti The Bay Hotel in Robin Hoods Bay for lunch. You can catch a bus, or a very decent walk.

Despite still not feeling 100% (10-day flu over the holidays = 👎), we are powering on through with our NYE Whitby trip 💪 So, I’m after recommendations! We’re getting the train so no car. I’m particularly interested in where we can find the best fish & chips … #geographyteacher

First contact in a week. Last time we had contact (text) with Isabelle was at Heathrow last Wednesday. BES blog includes a picture which, sadly, I don’t have permission to share. Weather has been cloudy, cool and wet. Animal sightings sound amazing. @PrendergastSch1 @LSFederation

@visit_leicester I studied at Leicester Polytechnic in the mid 80s, I think the Oval was near the top end of the New Walk.

Less said about the England cricket team the better right now, but did you know you can find 'The Oval' in Leicester too? Who knows were this one is?

@JSpanUK You might like to get the designer to reduce the gap between the 1 and the 5 and the 1 and the 8 a little, they look a bit wide compared to the other numbers. The proper term is kerning, but I’m not sure if designers know this terminology any longer. Good luck with the book.

Thought I would kick off Prendergast School’s Create Week by showing my latest ‘not going out much’ pot. @PrendergastCre8 @PrendergastSch1

@PLSEALDep Yes I think you can add colour to the learning of any object, red triangle, blue envelope, yellow box etc It could also be used to learn colour words, like the word yellow in yellow. Can also be used to teach temperature, cool colours like blue and green, hot colours like red.
English

@davidgrahamc Maybe younger children (under 5) can learn colours as a context, but wouldn’t teaching objects to the 5 year-olds at the same time accelerate their progress to express themselves? I might be wrong of course.
English

Shouldn’t objects and colours be taught together? A red car, a blue door etc. Context can’t be just colours, can it?

I recently assessed a Turkish 5 year old who is new to English. He was able to name the colours of objects but not name the objects. Teacher said they had been teaching him colours in class. Why do schools think it's ok to teach colours before the name of objects?!

Pot 1, 2021. Day five in the pottery garage. Here it is, the latest finished piece. Five days of quiet chilled time making the fifth ‘not going out’ UK lockdown III pot. Hope you have enjoyed following along. @PrendergastSch1 @LSFederation @charityleather

Pot 1, 2021. Day four in the pottery garage. Made four trees then applied them to the pot body. Made a fountain for the village square. Then added various textures to suggest gardens paths and fields. @PrendergastSch1
