Maybe one day he will get his body working reliably again and be a top footballer for someone (Stockport/Wigan type), but there’s no room for passengers - availability is ability.

Tom set to depart. Tom Davies will be leaving the club at the end of the 2025/26 season having spent three seasons with the club. Davies, 27, was signed by Paul Heckingbottom following United’s promotion to the Premier League in the summer 2023. Davies has been a popular member of the squad and in addition to his on-field contribution, he has been a keen advocate of the club and Community Foundation's efforts in the battle against mental health issues. Boss Chris Wilder and officials at Sheffield United thank Tom for his service and wish him well for the future.

@TortosaExpat Unreal performance from Sydie today. I had the same reservations about him from last year as well but he’s certainly evolved his game to add that to his arsenal. Anyone who’s seen him play in the 21/18’s knew he had it in the locker, so I guess it was just a matter of time UTB

Last season I said the only part of Sydie's game he was lacking was that final ball/decision making in the final 1/3rd of the pitch. Get that and you have a PL footballer. Today he did all his usual grafting but with 2 fabulous passes for both goals. He looks ready to me.

@AllThingsBlades He didn’t struggle at the start of the season he got tactically abandoned. The Ruben Selles system would have made prime Fernandinho/Makelele/Rodri/Ngolo Kante look foolish. Destined for Premier League though as you say.

Incredibly well spoken and talented for a 21 year old. Struggled at the start of the season (as did everyone) but these past few months he has been excellent, destined for Premier League football.
