I might be over generalizing but that’s how it feels.

When I teach on a historic biblical sex ethic in SF, I have one group of people mad at me & another applauding. When I teach on God’s vision of racial justice and name evil in systems I have the same group that was happy w me now mad at me and ones that were mad now applauding 🤦🏽‍♂️

@kristenhowerton You should probably say *white Christians. I don’t think you can tell black Christians how to protest in their own protests.

Christians: Do not treat the protests as a new mission field. Do not go to "love on people" or to lead people in prayer. Do not go to "be a Christian voice in the crowd" or to share God's love or to witness to people. Go to fight systemic racism and racial violence. The end.

On Pentecost Sunday we remember that it was the violence of a mob and the injustice of the State that preceded an outpouring of God’s Spirit upon His people. And that the whole promise was that God’s Spirit would be poured out on ALL FLESH. Do it again Lord.
