10. We make discernment exclusive to only certain people at church. We don’t train or encourage everyone to discern. 11. We’ve created God in our image. (our likes & dislikes, politics, friends & enemies, etc.) 12. We isolate ourselves; we don’t operate in community.

6. We assume spiritual authority can’t be questioned. 7. We applaud charisma over character. 8. We reject spiritual maturity. 9. We invite the Holy Spirit to join what we are already doing instead of consulting Him in the first place.

Why I think Christians struggle w/discernment: 🧵 1. The access of information replaces any formation. 2. Biblical literacy is decreasing. 3. Urgency has supplemented stillness/quiet. 4. Emotions have replaced the Holy Spirit. 5. We embrace tolerance and we discourage “testing.”
